Yesterday I posted a question/statement that showed affection for my country, the United States of America. A majority of those who responded echoed my sentiment with the exception of two who showed hate for our country AND/OR hate for Republicans. Tonight I was notified by YA that my question was deleted. Then I post a question about why this question was deleted. Some of the responses I got were partisan and one person accused me of “ranting” in my first question.

20+ years ago, the U.S. asked aircraft makers to produce the ultimate stealth bomber that could penetrate soviet-influenced territories. Northrop Grummon answered the call, with the B2 stealth bomber, up to that point, the most expensive aircraft in existence, at around $156 billion per plane. Yet, after all the hype surrounding the plane, it sat in the hanger, thanks to the collapse of the soviet union. It wasnt needed until nearly 8 years later, in bosnia, then again 5 years later, in iraq. The raptor's maiden flight as a prototype was back in 1990, and as a completed project, in 1997. Apparantly it also sat in the hanger for 8 years, until its introduction in 2005. So my question is: why would the U.S. suddenly put a highly advanced aircraft into use, when we can apparantly easily overthrow iraq, a poorly-stiched-quilt of a country (which we are STILL struggling to control after 4 years)? What enemy is at our doorstep? Who is the government hiding? Are we on the brink of world war?

And if I am talking to an older man in Texas and the legal age of consent there is 17, which state's age of consent should we abide by? California's or Texas's?

A friend of mine opened a savings account for his newborn 10 years ago. He moved and forgot about it. He recently remembered and when he went back to collect his $$ the bank told him that after a certain period of inactivity the state assumes the person has died and takes the money. Can this actually happen, and if so is there anything he can do to get his money back?

I'm prior Marine Corps and we always got EO classes and get preached EO EO.
But it's not equal at all. Women get treated so much better in the Military now.
If it's equal why do they get to run an easier PFT than I run. She gets 30 minutes to run 3 miles, she gets to hang on a bar, I have to do pullups. They get an easier boot camp and the female drill instructors get mad at male DI's for corecting "their recruit".
If their is a maritorious board and it's a male and female left the female always wins.
If we PT together as a squad or platoon and a guy falls back he's a sh&^bird is a female falls back everybody says awww it's ok you can do it.
There's more and it don't effect me anymore (thank God) LOL
but what are your thoughts

i know i am only 16 but i know exactly what i want to do. I want to be a navy nurse and i always have wanted to. now that i am a junior i have to start planning for my college. Question Details: There are so many on YA that show a dislike for our country. It’s sad that so many are our own citizens. I just wanted to say God bless America. She has carried us through so much and helped the peoples of other nations so many times. Our fighting men and woman are buried in foreign soil as a testament to that. God bless America!

o.k. i was in the air force for about 3 years and got into trouble for shoplifting a few watches from the bx on base. i was only 19 and it was a very childish and immature thing to do and now I'm trying to make things right. i got a bad conduct discharge because of it and now am trying to get into the army. the recruiter put in a waiver and i was wondering how long it took and how hard it would be to get it passed. its been 5 years since i got into trouble. the recruiter thinks it will pass but i was wondering if anyone else knew of any similar circumstances. PLEASE, if you don't have enough self-respect to give a helpful or encouraging response, don't answer!

My friend is black and white(dad-white,mom-black). Her dad and mom had a fling which resulted in her and her dad ran away. She wants nothing to do with her white ancestry even though her mom wants her to be more accepting of it because she's mixed race. Well her legal papers say biracial and she wants to change it to African American. The Government won't let her because her skin is too light and she has too many caucasian features so they want to leave it biracial. She is really mad about this. What could she do about this, and why would the government deny her to change her ethnicity to African American?

Who cares if France, Germany, and a bunch of Islamic crazies hate us? Who are we trying to impress? Since when have we bent to the wills of other nations? I thought America was the nation of hubris, jingoism, and interventionism.
Using that as a reason to pull out of Iraq (or to argue that we shouldn't ever have entered) is lame. Whoever came up with it must have been grasping for some new excuse to bash the President.
