The nation as a whole is more conservative than it is liberal and it seems that the leading candidates are very liberal. If the party wants to win the election, then they should back a candidate that is more conservative. I understand that most of the media supports those liberal candidates that they like to push down are throats, but you would think that the party would realize it needs to become more conservative. What are your thoughts?

Incredible Shrinking Bush Deficit?
Incredible Shrinking Bush Deficit And the new Democrat deficit. The Treasury Department’s tax-collection data for April puts the federal deficit over the 12-month period ending April 30 at $144.7 billion. This leaves the deficit at about one percent of GDP, and declining, which is not a significant economic problem. The decline is due to surging tax revenues from a booming economy. The deficit is down about $120 billion, or 45 percent, since last April. It has declined by $309 billion, or 68 percent, over the last three years from the peak of $455 billion in April, 2004. This experience shows that combining pro-growth tax cuts with just moderate spending restraint can sharply reduce, and, indeed, eliminate the deficit. The deficit has declined now for 26 consecutive months and will continue to do so over the next 5 months until the end of the fiscal year. The deficit will consequently soon be well below one percent of GDP. Even with some modest slow down in economic growth, this deficit could be eliminated over the next two years with reasonable restraint in the growth of federal spending. But any such reasonable restraint in spending is not going to happen with the new Democrat Congress. Their emerging budget plan calls for even more rapid increases in federal spending, sopping up all projected increases in revenues, which will leave no scope for continued deficit reduction in the next fiscal year. They tout a plan to eliminate the remaining rapidly shrinking deficit over a ridiculous five years, and that only with tax increases. Starting this fall, therefore, Democrats will be harping on a deficit which was rapidly falling toward extinction, but which they chose instead to sustain and perpetuate with excessive spending increases. Tax revenues this fiscal year are running at about 19 percent of GDP, which is in line with historical averages over the last 50-plus years, showing there is no justification for a tax increase. But the Democrats’ plan for history-shattering tax increases starting in the next fiscal year, to support record-setting increases in spending. Their long-term budget plan is for truly massive increases in taxes and spending, like nothing ever seen before. Those conservative commentators who argued last year that Democrats would be better at fiscal discipline than the Republicans played a major role in bringing down the Republican congressional majorities. They are being proved quite wrong. Now just wait until you hear about the Democrat plans for entitlements.

On our local news a black woman say's she expect violence in the streets if the City (other tax payers) don't provide her & her neighbors with Fans & Air Conditioneers, she appeared to be a woman in her mid 30's, there were around 20 male neighbors complaining also.

They didn't show other minorities complaining or asking for hand-outs, they showed several "Cooling-Centers" filled with African Americans.

I asked my next door neighbors who are hispanic, they came from Mexico 10 years ago if they needed cooling...she told me her husband was at work and their 400k house was plently cool, 69 degrees she said.

I told her what I saw on the news and she said those people do nothing but complain and want free hand-outs from the other tax-payers

I was shocked at the threrat of violence...the black woman said they would riot if they didn't get help from others..now!

how can we help these people?

This past weekend I had a BBQ at my house. It was great! Neighborhood kids came over and played with my dogs, family constantly coming to the grill asking for seconds and thirds. Even my next door neighbor came over to eat since his wife is out of town and he's tired of 'nukem food'.

The question came up while we were eating, "If I was called by the USMC tomorrow, would I serve again?" Would I go through years of empty holidays, all the pain, the hard work? All those sleepless nights under foreign stars, never knowing what the dawn would bring? Would endure combat again? Would I be willing to die for my country?

Would I do it all again?

My answer was simply..."Yes." I say this with resolve because I know, freedom isn't free at all. That BBQ we were enjoying came at the cost of those who stand silent guard over us everyday. They never ask for a 'thank you', but from my family and I, they get one everyday.

So, to those that have served, would you serve again if called?

After being told that it wouldn't be a problem, Meps said that i couldnt because i had an MIP. My recruiter said just to pick a job and i could transfer to EOD later before bootcamp. Well that never happened so im stuck with Jet Mechanic (AD) and hate it.

My sister is 19 years old and she was in a car accident, she was awarded 10,000 for bodily injury. Her lawyer had her come to his office and sign the back of the check, stating that he had to deposit it into his account then deduct 3300 for his fees then cut her another check in 4 days. It has been a week and when she called he stated that he had to first pay the hospital bills before he gives her the check. We called the hospital and they stated that her health insurance has already covered all of the medical bill, so there is no bill out there. My question is what can she do to make sure the lawyer is not pocketing money that is rightfully hers and just saying that he is paying medical bills, also was she supposed to sign the check over to him and around how much of it should she recived considering ther aren't any outstanding bills?
