I keep reading American posters going on about him. (I'm British so not clued up on American politics)
I obviously know who Hilary Clinton is (Bill's wife) - is she standing for President or something?
But I have no idea who this Obama character is. Enlighten me!

Actually if you don't want him, can you send him over to the UK? We have need of a good Socialist in our Government. All we have at the moment are limp wristed Conservative businessmen looking for backhanders from the highest bidder.

Obama is a junior senator from Illinois of a mixed race. He's a democrat like Hillary. Both are running for Pres. Some think because he has both black and white parents it gives him more of an edge to get the black and white vote.
As usual most in the political sphere don't get it. For the most part I don't think race is an issue. We're just tired as a whole of those too far left and right and would like to see somebody (ANYBODY!) that represents the norm. Someone with strength of character, morals and can't be bought. I guess we're looking for a political Elliot Ness (the Untouchables). lol! Somewhere one must exist but I haven't seen one yet.

I under no circumstances believe any guy or woman who smiles for all time and not in any respect ever a flesh presser who smiles for all time plus talks lots without saying something. he's neither reliable adequate or experienced adequate to be President of united statesa.; although, he's an extremely reliable speech maker and would promise adequate toevery one to in all probability get elected by using the texture reliable/politically best crowd that's frightening.

his father left when he was a baby, and he was raised by his mother and grandparents.
His father was a brilliant man who came to the US on a scholarship, on the terms that he would go back to Kenya and do good for the people there, and he did. He was valedictorian of his class.
Obama is currently a freshman senator for the state of Illinois. He is a christian and lives with his wife and kids in Illinois.

He's running for the Democratic Presidential nomination. Hillary Clinton (who is Bill's wife) is also running for the same position... as well as a few other Democratic hopefuls.
Both Obama and Clinton are big news, because if either would win the nomination, there's a good chance he or she would become President... which would be a huge first for the US: Obama would be the first black President or Clinton would be the first female President.

Barack Obama(Democratic Party) is a congressman from Illinois that is running for president in this upcoming election. I like his views such as his desire to pull our troops out of Iraq. His biggest problem is that he's half black and this country has too many closet racists that will not vote for him even though he comes across as the most sincere and outspoken one of the bunch.
