His religion doesn't bother be, but any candidate that says his religious beliefs will not sway what he/she does as President is most likely not telling the truth.

Sen. Gordon Smith of Oregon is a Mormon and he said his religious beliefs would not keep him from doing what the Oregon voters wanted, but he has done so again and again to be in line with his 'Mormon views'. Like another said, Mormons first allegiance is to the Church.

I don't care if Mitt Romney is Wiccan or even Agnostic; if he can lead this country and do what's right for the people; then he gets my vote, regardless of religious preference.

No. I also think he is a strong candidate. I can also tell that he is a loving family man and a great father. That is more important to me than his religion. A man who believes in a higher power, greater than himself, no matter what the religion, is a better leader than someone who has no faith and thinks they are God themselves.

Mormonism is easily the most secretive of all the larger American religions. They are the only "mainline" religion in America that will not reveal their finances, not even to their own membership.

They believe in learning secrete handshakes in oder to gain the highest heaven.

They wear annointed underwear for protection (They ALL wear them)

They are still strongly opposed to equality for women.

They believe that black people were born "unworthy" because of decisions they made in a pre-life. They also believe Blacks are cursed by God, with the color of their skin.

And the primary thing is the control that church authority has in the life of each and every Mormon. If Romney became President, his first allegience would be to the Mormon Church.

Don't believe me? Google it. Investigate for yourself.

His religion doesn't bother me, but his standard politician rhetoric sure does. Who teaches these guys to act so stiff, obfuscate on every answer, and just generally act so dim-witted?

I'm voting for Ron Paul in 08, I'm sick to death of stuffy old lawyers who only care about getting elected. Note to the masses: you don't need to be a lawyer to get elected, in fact we should make it illegal!

No Romney's religion doesn't bother me at all.

Of course it does and it should bother everyone else .

The reason is obvious --that originally Mormons had the right to marry many wifes . That it thought Black people were a different species and not human .

Any one who could still believe that crap should never have the ability to wage war on anyone .

If they do not believe that crap then what is it they do believe in .

So for me anyone who claims to and associates themselves with any believes that can be clearly defined as delusional or irrational should never be considered to be our president .

Let me also add that the idiot speaking about the miners is a loon also with all the God has smashed them to pieces and they died fast crap . have you seen it . Look it up or ask me and I will get you a link .

What is his religion?
BTW....
What is the religion of Guiliani, McCain, Obama, and Clinton?
This sounds like a Archie Bunker-type question.

I can't say it does really. I'm not sure how it'll fly in the rest of the US but I've met Mormons and they don't phase me.
