On our local news a black woman say's she expect violence in the streets if the City (other tax payers) don't provide her & her neighbors with Fans & Air Conditioneers, she appeared to be a woman in her mid 30's, there were around 20 male neighbors complaining also.

They didn't show other minorities complaining or asking for hand-outs, they showed several "Cooling-Centers" filled with African Americans.

I asked my next door neighbors who are hispanic, they came from Mexico 10 years ago if they needed cooling...she told me her husband was at work and their 400k house was plently cool, 69 degrees she said.

I told her what I saw on the news and she said those people do nothing but complain and want free hand-outs from the other tax-payers

I was shocked at the threrat of violence...the black woman said they would riot if they didn't get help from others..now!

how can we help these people?

She must be thinking of the fatal Chicago Heat Wave back in 1995. Over 730 people died.. i read some articles about it for a sociology class in college. I'm sure people would start rioting if they feared another scenario like that one. You should read up on the event and the studies surrounding the demographics of the people that died and the types of people that didn't. It really is an interesting case. Glad you're thinking along the lines of "how can we help these people"

If they have enough energy in all that heat to riot then they have enough energy to go to work to earn the money to by one.

Their just freeloading. What happens if they get a free AC, hook it up, run it with their doors wide open, run up their power bill and can't pay it and then their electricity is shut off. Next they'll want someone to pay their electric bill.

If there's old folks on limited income that need help that's a different thing but chances are most of them are loud mouth dead beats.

You have got to be the most oddest person that I have heard something from all year. You have got to be really bored with no friends to make up a whole fictional story about nothing. As a BLACK TAX PAYER that lives in a very wealthy community with two a/c untis please get a job like a classy real American would and get up off your a** so my tax dollars wont have to support your habit in front of the computer. HaHa!

They need to help themselves. That's the problem with America. So many people feel an entitlement. It isn't the governments job to provide air conditioning, housing, free college education and everything else under the sun to people.

Growing up outside Detroit, there was always concerns when we had heat spells that riots would break out down town. We didn't have air conditioning either, but that didn't matter. So now the leaches on the teet of society are getting uglier I guess.
