I'm prior Marine Corps and we always got EO classes and get preached EO EO.

But it's not equal at all. Women get treated so much better in the Military now.

If it's equal why do they get to run an easier PFT than I run. She gets 30 minutes to run 3 miles, she gets to hang on a bar, I have to do pullups. They get an easier boot camp and the female drill instructors get mad at male DI's for corecting "their recruit".

If their is a maritorious board and it's a male and female left the female always wins.

If we PT together as a squad or platoon and a guy falls back he's a sh&^bird is a female falls back everybody says awww it's ok you can do it.

There's more and it don't effect me anymore (thank God) LOL
but what are your thoughts
I want feedback

A male Marine can NOT wear earings off duty ( i did anyways hehe)
A male Marine has to shave even off duty but a female Marine can take her hair out of the sock bun but they want a male Marine to have a haircut technically on leave too)

A female marine can even wear earings in the dress and service uniforms.

Hey, I'm a female and I agree with you.

It pisses me off because I feel cheated. I, as a woman, feel like I'm being handed things instead of having to work for them. I don't want charity, I don't want a hand-out, I joined the military to prove myself and to work hard.

It's just like people who treat minorities differently because they 'feel bad' or something. Minorities want equality, not special treatment, and as a woman in the military, that is exactly how I feel as well. I believe in equality of the sexes, not favoring either one of them.
I think it will just take a while for men and women to be treated equally, it will be many years before we actually look at the sexes (and minorities, etc) as EQUAL instead of 'different'. Although different is better than 'lesser' it still isn't equal.

I don't want to be treated as different. I want to be set to the same standard as a man. That is part of what is wrong with the military today.
However, if you are going to complain about equal opportunity how about the fact that there are jobs in the military that men are "allowed" to do and women are not. Even if I run as fast as you, and do as well as you, I'm still not seen as equal.
Not to mention, if you want to talk about something stupid in the military how about boot camp. How about the stress card. "Don't yell at me or I'll hold up my little card saying I'm stressed and get a time out." :) It's a joke! I thought the whole concept of boot camp was to break you down, so they could build you back up. It made you stop seeing "I" and starting seeing "WE". Now it's "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, but could you please do some push-ups".

no longer equivalent...here is why...the merchandising equipment. I do trust any gender serving...it relatively is not an argument. the subject lies with those women who connect and can't carry their weight and do the pastime they signed as much as do. There are adult adult males in provider who're a similar way, yet maximum persons falls on the female gender. Getting back on undertaking, the merchandising equipment interior the militia is biased. a minimum of interior the army, merchandising factors are accounted throughout merchandising attention from E-4 to E-5, and on up the rank shape. as an occasion, you have expert A (Male) and expert B (lady). the two got here into provider a similar time, the two have a similar pastime interior the militia, the two have a similar factors...different than in actual training rankings. expert A rankings 280 on his PT attempt, subsequently receiving 280 merchandising factors. expert B rankings 3 hundred (optimal) on her PT attempt and gets 3 hundred merchandising factors. even nevertheless the male had to do purely approximately two times the quantity of pushups, situps, and run the run plenty speedier then the girl is authorized, she'll get the nod for being seen for merchandising over the male. How honest is that??? it relatively is the main important sticking factor approximately women interior the army. besides that, there are various women interior the militia that would carry their own, yet as constantly, there are various that may not be in a position to and act like a stereotypical woman to get adult adult males to help them so as that they only fall with the aid of the cracks. I don't know what Marine Corps you were in kid, but when a female fell out, she was treated just the same and a male who fell out, when a meritorious promotion board came up and it was a male and female left, many times the female won because she worked her *** off and has the better record of the 2, every think maybe not everything is handed to them, maybe you should take a lesson from them kid, they could probably teach you a thing or 2.

Last time I check, boot camp was segregated, they separated the male and female recruits and any DI would get upset at another DI from another company or training Bat. correcting their recruit, but mainly because they are embarrassed that their recruit had to be corrected.

On the PFT 18 mins is 100% for both men and women, crunches are the same, and yes there is a difference in the pull ups and flexed arm hangs, but I guess it would take a whining little POG like you to ***** about that.

Stop crying because the female marines could kick your *** and grow a pair of balls and get on with your life, from where I stand, my Corps is better off without you.

I can top that.

At basic, the day we got our very first EO class, we also found out that females didn't pull CQ (duty). This was a few ours after we were told that the Army is the best at equal opportunity.

Yeah most female not only in the Military but in the United States dont want Equal Rights, they want Special Rights.

Ive been in the Army for over five years and thank god im combat arms so I dont have to work to much with females but I notice they get away with everything!

I personally feel ever since females have been taking more active roles in the military the military has gotten softer and weaker overall.

Women are upheld to lower standards than males, they can be fatter, they dont have to be in as good of shape physically, they get mandatory shower trips to the rear while trainning in the field. They arent expected to help out when doing labor such as down loading a bunch of gear from a conex (because its heavy stuff)

If I ever find myself in charge of females im gonna get in alot of trouble because Im gonna expect as much out of them as I would my male soldiers and for that Im wrong.

Using the excuse "im just a girl" should be a automatic article 15, if you cant do your job aswell as a male can than get out of the Army!

Atleast they arent allowed in Combat Arms, there are no females in my unit that when on patrol if I got hit could carry or even drag my body wearing full battle rattle to safety. In a combat capacity they would just be extra wieght for the males to carry to around.

If people would quit turning a blind eye to all the issues with women in the military, the issues you mentioned and others too might be addressed.
