Most answers are equating "dating" & having sex. Perhaps they are used to the prostitute's definition of "date," judging by the comments.
It would not be illegal to date with the ages you listed.
As for your question, is it wrong - THAT would be up to who's opinion? I am sure there are some in society who feel it is a sin & morally wrong. There are also some people who see nothing wrong.
IF by "dating" you do mean having sex, then the parent's consent means nothing - it is illegal. A parent cannot give consent for an adult to have sex with a minor child. In ID, the legal age of consent is 18.
This applies whether it is the male or female who is 17.

Ohhh, Kiota..... you have a BIG misunderstanding of the age of consent. The age difference matters to someone of age involved within someone younger. It is an enhancement to the penalty. Anyone under the age of consent cannot legally give consent to engage in sex. That is the very definition of Age of Consent.

A few issues: Not only do your parents have the right to press charges for having sex with a minor (no matter how many "tell you" they are okay with it), but the state does as well. Second, I got pregnant when I was 16 ( NOT in purpose) and my boyfriend was 19. We split up when my son was 4 months old. It was very scary being a 17 year old mother, and I'm one of the few that worked hard and put myself through school and didn't live off of government money. So unless you're excited about being a single teenage mother, wait until you're at least an adult - 18. Majority of 16 years olds that get pregnant do NOT end up with that person.

It depends on Idaho law. In CA, even if the 17 year old consents, it is UNLAWFUL for anyone over 18 to have sex with anyone under 18. Now, that doesn't mean they all get prosecuted... but if somebody told the police, they certainly could. and, the 17-year old could be taken from her parents' home because they're failing to protect her from the 21 year old.

With parental consent? No, it's not illegal.
However as someone else suggested, look up the specific laws for Idaho and your county.
But remember your parents might change their minds, then were will the poor guy be?
Get a SIGNED CONSENT from your parents. Then they can't make trouble for him.
Better safe than sorry.

The age of consent is 18. 16-year-old and 17-year-olds may have sex with people who are LESS than 5 years older than them. For instance 17-22. People under the age of 16 can have sex with people under the age of 18.

In other words, no, it's not illegal.

just look up "age of consent". In most states it is 17 and the parent has no say in it.

i dont see why if the parents are ok with it, unless there was some acohol related incident, the 21 year old would probably get in trouble there.
