My husband was arrested and later the charges were dropped. We got a copy of the police report and it was never signed by any police officers.

A Police report has to have the reporting Officers name on it. Any report I had to do, did require a signature. If this is an important factor to you, you can always go to the Police station, and question it.

Generally yes - but if it isn't, it won't automatically be dismissed. If it isn't signed, it will usually have the name of the arresting officer and his badge number. This is enough to identify the officer making out the report.

it's no longer important since the charges were dropped. But it should at the very least name the police officers who were at the scene. If not, maybe that's why it was dropped because they weren't listed or because there were no signature. Thank your lucky stars.

Many of our reports are computerized now, and do not require a signature.

I would say that it is a matter of Department Policy rather than Statute or Law.
