The Romantics formed their band on Valentine's Day , hence the song title . Known as one of the biggest party-hits of the 80's , surprisingly this song never hit the Top 40 !! It peaked at #49 in 1980 . Hmmmmmm ??? Surprising .

Maybe if we were reminded of the real cost of the policing of the Iraq civil war, America might insist on bringing the troops home.

Iraq is in the throes of its worst political crisis since the fall of Saddam Hussein with the new democratic system, based on national consensus among its ethnic and sectarian groups, appearing dangerously close to collapsing, say several politicians and analysts.

This has brought paralysis to governmental institutions and has left parliament unable to make headway on 18 benchmarks Washington is using to measure progress in Iraq, including legislation on oil revenue sharing and reforming security forces.

Did the surge just become totally irrelevant? If the Iraqi leaders don't take the opportunities like the article suggest.Don't you think those Iraqi politicians might try harder if they didn't have the US to cover them,to protect their power?Wouldn't they work harder to compromise if they had everything to loose?

an african guy who lives not far from us today almost ran over my little boy and wife speeding along the sidewalk in his car before turning into his drive, with an ice cream in one hand. When I pointed out to him that this was dangerous, especially as children frequently use the path he became abusive at which point we left. Is this normal in the UK? Have people lost it? What can you do apart from stay at home?

Start in the streets of our hometowns, or take the fight to the head of the beast?

It just seems that some of the discrimination/harrassment issues would go away if firefighters had the same regimen as police officers.

Here the police go around giving out jaywalking tickets; 'smoking too close to a business' tickets, etc. Yet there are crack and meth houses right on my block--that generate a huge amount of traffic--and they do nothing.

Here, the criminal justice system is looking for money. Fines galore; for things you wouldn't give a second thought to. People who haven't done anything really wrong are sent to prison--simply because they can't pay the fines.

I was always taught that the policeman is your friend--not so, not when they are just looking for the worst in people--and usually lean toward those who are law-abiding citizens.

I am going to be PCSing in March from Germany. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the military will fly us into a location other than our base. I heard some say they will, and then you just have to pay to get from the location they fly you, to the base. Some say though that they will only fly you into your duty station. Does anyone know anything on this?

As a church pastor, I stand firm on the church staying out of the state business. But I am still a citizen of the USA, can I still exercise my duty to my fellow citizens, to be part of the political discussion and process?

And if so, would it also be prudent to show that same zeal in keeping the church out of the state business, by making my political position that of one that is of benefit to the people of the USA as a whole, and not of benefit to my religious beliefs and Christian peers?

My husband has retained a lawyer for child support issues, that my sons father used against me for our child support issues. Now he knows my husband is using this lawyer and is having a fit, incase he needs to take me to court ever again, he is saying this is a conflict of intrest and he is going to call the attorney so he wont represent my husband anymore. We have already paid him and we only have one week to court. Is this really a conflict of intrest since hes not representing me?
