Most states usually have an amnesty program where you provide a one time lump sum payment in exchange for forgiveness of all outstanding debts.

If you're not comfortable enough to talk to the child support people, perhaps a Legal Aid Attorney could help you. Maybe you spent a lot of time in prison, disabled from many fights and assaults, suffered from undiagnosed mental illness or under the influence of drugs and alcohol - your children are adults and probably have children of their own and here you are owing the government over $65K.

Man,that is a bummer.I will suggest to you that you seek an attorney that handles only cases like this.A friend of mine was paying support for 12 yrs on a child that turned out after DNA testing ,not his.He went to court and was found not liable ,but has been unsuccessful in 2 yrs trying to get his money back from the state.I hope that things work out for you I also have been there and it sucks.

You don't! They will eventually be attaching your Social Security checks. You should have done the right thing and paid it when it was due. Why should the taxpayers be responsible for supporting your kids? It doesn't take a man to create a child, it takes a man to support that child!

I feel your pain.

I pay almost NINE HUNDRED a month for ONE child and my balance still goes UP.

And don't even CONSIDER going to court to get it lowered because they will INCREASE it - Why? Because you are MALE and the system is run by females with a hate agenda.

And its not just your driver's license - try getting a passport.

you need to hv a meeting w your ex wifes DA, u will not have the amount lowered , but just tell the Da whats on your mind and do your best to keep that plan! the interest alone kills u, its usually 10% compounded annually. all your ex wife has to do if she wants is go to the Das office and tell them to drop the case and they do that, problem is i have yet to see a ex do this! sorry, goodluck
