I was served on tuesday to tesityfy against someone next tuesday (10th). Wednesday that person had a motion and pleaded no contest to the charge I witnessed. Now he has sentencing on the 31st of july. My question is, do I still have to testify against him next tuesday?

I'm currently in the AFROTC at my university and I'm deeply involved with investing and my finances. I wanted to get a projection of how much REAL income I'd be making a month (I've already seen pay scale charts), but I wanted to know what kind of expenses I should expect to be paying. I mean, the military pays for house, food, things such as that, so I was wondering what military men and women really make and what they would need to spend their money on.

Also, this question should be answered with the assumption that I'd be making officer pay and that I'm single. However, it would be great to know typical expenses a married couple would have.

Would that be considered slander and could I sue that customer for damages? I work in a hotel and a guest claimed that I called his girlfriend and told her that he was bringing strange women back to the hotel. I didn't do this of course since I don't know him or her and it wouldn't be any of my business anyways, but it got me into really hot water with my manager, who believed him over me. I am an exemplary employee who even received a near perfect score on my evaluation two weeks ago. I have not lost my job, but since leaving the gentleman has called several times asking to speak with the manager who has been out. I am worried that when she gets back he will call her and tell her something else and I will lose my job. If this happens is there any kind of recourse that I could take against him or against the hotel?

Two 40 year old Frenchmen are caught steeling on the act. One gets fired for such an act but the second one stays just because he's the managers friend. When the 1st French worker claims discrimination to the EEOC they ask him what type of discrimination would you like to file?
* Age, * Disability, * Equal Pay, * National Origin
* Pregnancy, * Race, * Religion, * Retaliation
* Sex, * Sexual Harassment.
Apparently the case didn't fall into any of these category's therefore the case was dismissed as discrimination.

I am going through a horrible divorce and having a rough time. I really got a punch in the gut when I found out this week that his lawyer and mine are buddies and merged their law firms. I was told I could get dumped. Now I cannot get a hold of anyone and money is due me. I have left several messages for the local bar association and no one there will call me back either. What are my rights? Didn't they have an obligation to tell me this before wasting my time and taking my case? It seems like a bad business practice. Now I have no money, probably no lawyer, and legal aid has no guaranteee someone will be able to go to court with me Aug. 17th. I am a single mom with no other resources and I feel like I have been taken advantage of. AND...it will be important for answerers to know this in El Paso, Texas, laws are unusual here, not like in other places, so your standard answers might not really apply. It would help to have people familiar with these situations in TX to answer.

Don't they know the only difference between them and alot of other people is they got caught. You would be surprised how many people do things they should be charged with they just haven't been caught. Not even by you.
