We have a government that wages perpetual wars, for the sake of waging war. People are ignorant of the past (even though the information is out there, most never seek it). People who continue to use Oldspeak and ignore the system of Newspeak (a.k.a. political correctness) are derided as "intolerant." We have televisions like in 1984 that brainwash people 24-7. We even have a Junior Anti-Sex League (which uses STDs to draw members) and organizations promoting making our draconian victimless crime laws even worse (such as MADD, SADD etc.).

Are things like in 1984?

Yep, that is right. It is a little known FACT that people seem to AVIOD, and keep saying, "deport them all" or "deport all the Mexicans."
And I am not going into whether is it possible or not. It is impractical, unethical, and just plain wrong, for so many reasons.

I know when these anti illegal immigration people say "deport them all," they say it to, sort of, express how they feel about the issue but it's GETTING PRETTY OLD.

Not everybody wraps themselves in a flag and a bible. The following quote defines some peoples' views of patriotism. What's so difficult to understand about this? I wonder what people are hiding when they wrap themselves in the flag.

"Our country is not the only thing to which we owe our allegiance. It is also owed to justice and to humanity. Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong. "

Lets see, he's had DUI, marijuana, and reckless driving convictions. He got stopped going over 100 mph with marijuana, and several prescription drugs that he has no prescription for. But, he's never gone to jail.

If a person charged with a crime claims they did not commit the crime with their knowledge or with any intention would this person most likely be found innocent of the crime? There is also no hard evidence or reason as to why this person committed the crime only the assumption that they did.

How can a guy running for President of a country that's involved in TWO wars list the 12 most important issues of his candidacy and NEVER mention Iraq or Afghanistan in ANY of them? If you're president of a country at war, shouldn't that be your NUMBER ONE commitment?

I wish guns weren't held by the general public, but it's a freedom of the bill of rights, so I accept it as an American freedom.

I'm not an atheist, but I wish they were not forced to say "under God" when they recite the pledge, as guaranteed by the separation of church and state. ("under god" was added by Pres. Eisenhower, not our founding fathers)

I would never burn our flag and do not like the sight of it, but I defend a persons right to do so.

So I ask you, do you accept and rejoice in American freedom, or do you rejoice only in the freedoms you feel are appropriate?

JFK was last good DEM Prez. I know you don't like to hear this ...... but he cut taxes. He was also the last DEM Prez to be tough on the Soviets.

Since then the DEM Party is known for Raising Taxes, gutting the military and intelligence services and embracing Hollywood Values over Middle America's.

The problem with Liberals is that they underestimate what can be accomplished by courage and resolve because these are not qualities they possess. Liberalism is a can't cant. Every task is too difficult. Every danger is too great. This is why liberals don't oppose dictators until after they've been deposed by the likes of Reagan and Bush. While tyrants are still in power, liberal lips stay firmly glued to their backsides. They are the Party of doing nothing!

The Party I support ended the Soviet Union, Ended Saddam and Ended the Taliban. In short, is spread Democracy where there was none before.Slightly more substantial than "Hey Dude, Remember when Clinton Raised taxes that time"!

in two months I have to decide whether or not to finish college right now, or go ahead with my plans to join the Air Force. Why three months you ask... well because I had to drop out of DEP, and the flight chief said his door was open if I wanted to come back after I apologized for wasting their time... but I don't know if I will still have the opportunity when three months is up. I'm really patriotic, and I really want to serve my country. I also want to travel the world and do all sorts of new and cool things. At the same time I want my college degree so I can have a great career and the pride of finishing college. Finishing college will take me about 1 and a half to two years. I'm not basing my life decisions on strangers on Y.A. but i like to hear unbiased opinions and even some biased opinions. I'm afraid to have regrets and to let people down though and that can happen either choice i make. also i took a year off of school already and haven't been doing to well
