Most were on their knees, thanking the USA for kicking the German's booty in WW2. I hardly think good, moral, decent people like the Brits will hold a 200 year old war against the USA

You seem to be forgetting the long war that followed the declaration of independence. It's not like we just said that we're now independent, and the British just got on their ships and went home. Anyway, did the British really make out so bad with us winning our independence? They still enjoyed all the benefits of commerce from their former colonies without the added cost of having to govern and protect them.

Sorry it was the day we announced that we no longer accept the British rule; it took 11 years of bloody wars to kick-out the British Red Coats.

Please read the American History again.

You've been drinking again haven't you. But yes some do still take offense. Half my relatives are British and I tease them about it and some do get a little wound up.

While I am a died in the wool full blooded American to the death girl, I feel the need to advise you that the reason we have our independence is because King George got tired of funding the war and wanted his military to move on to another project that was more important to him. They granted us independence in 1783. For that we should forever be grateful.

If they really wanted to win that war, they would have sent elite Brit troops to fight instead of hired guns from Prussia.
