I was in my local town centre just now, enjoying a roll your own cigarette....when I'd finished said item, there was about 5 millimetres of butt left, which I put on the floor (God, what a HIDEOUS crime against humanity!) - whereupon, one of our local ex-army/failed, frustrated policemen (delete as appropriate) Community Wardens informed me that if he'd has his book on him, I would've gotten an £80 on the spot fine....

Sorry, am I the only person who actually wants to smoke MORE now, just to pee off these supercilious, officious, jumped up little wannabe jobsworths off....?

democrats in 08 in congress? It tells me that people are generally fed up with government. (source ap)
While Bush's ratings are lower, Truman's and Nixons were lower, but then Bush isn't up for re election! Maybe the democrats need to cease Bush bashing and work for the rasie they gave themselves?

I have a Makarov PMM I got as a swap with a Russian officer who was visiting as an instructor for my Indonesian P1- an Indonesian clone of a Colt M1911.
I think it's absolutely brilliant aside from having to make Makarov soup every so often!
Great little gun- I actually prefer it to my P226 I usually carry- it's so much simpler.

What about you? experiences with Russian/Soviet weapons?

Your boss asked you to come up with suggestions in writing on human resources related aspects to assess employees as she had just "discovered" that you have an HR qualification but you have been working for him for 3 and half years but not directly under him. While discussing this he mentions that they are under utilising me I should be doing something that is related to what I have studied or else if not they should give another position even if it means doing some courses to develop my skills and the company financing those courses. He even said that they will hire somebody else to be in my present position and I will train that person.

I did give him all that he wanted he never came back to me, that was a year ago. He has never came to our office since then but I saw him when we had our closing function in December, he never said anything, yes I wasnt expecting him to becuase we were there for social purposes..

What do I say now to him, where do I start, how do I say it?

I'm particularly looking for the age range of draftees and how they were selected. Was it the government who introduced conscription or the nationalist rebels? Thanks.

This happened about a month ago. I worked for a company for only two days. The superinendant on the job laid me off. He did not make sure he had all the documents to legally employ me. The main bigwigs of his company got very angry at him and he laid me off to get rid of the issue or something... I was paid for the two days and still have my pay stubs. Is there anyway I could get compensation for something like this? I mean I was laid off and it was not my fault at all... I was a very hard worker. Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

When he executed mentally retarded people as Governer of Texas and mocked a women who begged for mercy. Why then can he not also commute the disgracefull 55 year sentence given to a man in California for selling marijuana, a far less serious offence than the crimes committed by Lewis "Scooter" Libby. Is it a case of one law for the Neocons and another law for everyone else?

Her husband's pardons, were simply routine exercise in the use of the pardon power, and none were aimed at protecting the Clinton presidency or legacy, she said.

Simply put, what is the value of protecting this "legacy"?

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.

When almost all of his ideas were approved by a congress that was almost half full of democrats?

5/19/2002-- 80% of American's approve of Bush's handling on terror.

"Bush’s popularity peaked the week after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, when 90 percent of respondents said they approved of the job he was doing." He is doing the same thing now that he was doing then, we have had 0 terrorist attacks since then, why all the hate?

March 2003.
76% of American's agree with invading Iraq. Now that we have done that and the battle wasn't as easy and smooth as anticipated, only 20% of people think it was a good idea, everyone wants to act like they never supported the war, wants to tuck tail and run... where is the spirit of perserverance?

It just seems to me that everyone, 90% of the country at one point, supported and loved our president and his courage, and now that things aren't as easy as they seemed, everyone wants to blame him and act like they never supported him.

soo last march, i spent a month in hong kong for a student exchange..needless to say i instantly fell in love. my home town in ontario is very small, close to farm life but not quite (we have a tim hortons)
anyways, i hate where i live with a passion, and i really want to move to asia. im thinking about the japan area.
im working on getting a full time job here so i can go there next summer..
but is 18 too young to move to the other side of the world? and also how hard will it be for me to get a visa to live there?
home sickness is not an issue either. the only thing i strive for is getting away.
also i would not be completely alone in japan, i have a very good friend who lives there.

... That their government, whatever its defects, is still better than any other,
... That their government system (i.e. a democracy) is the only desirable one,
... That their economy is the only viable economy,
... That their lifestyle is the most comfortable in the world, etc. etc.

I'm Taiwanese and British but I WON'T claim that my countries are the best at anything. Taiwan and the UK both have their advantages and disadvantages, and so does the US.

And I'm not saying that democracy is bad. Of course I'd generally prefer a democracy to a dictatorship, but some Americans can be so narrow-minded in discussions about different government systems!!
