This happened about a month ago. I worked for a company for only two days. The superinendant on the job laid me off. He did not make sure he had all the documents to legally employ me. The main bigwigs of his company got very angry at him and he laid me off to get rid of the issue or something... I was paid for the two days and still have my pay stubs. Is there anyway I could get compensation for something like this? I mean I was laid off and it was not my fault at all... I was a very hard worker. Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

In the U.S. you have the right to sue.

However, based on your post and the facts contained therein, and absent a union or otherwise valid employment contract stipulating the conditions under which you can be layed off or terminated, you have no winable case.

Check with the unemployment office. You may be able to get unemployment benefits -there are rules to firing an employee but even more rules for laying someone off. You may actually qualify for benefits even tho you only worked two days.

yes, you can go for compensation but it is necessary that you have all required documents like joining letter, job agreement papers etc.
