Your mans father as president announced a TV movie under Andrew Jackson's picture in the White House. I recall it was called "Heroes of Desert Storm", so how are eithier father or son comparable to Andrew Jackson? Jackson would sit on both and challenge both to a duel. Any of you as well. And niethier would dare accept and I bet most of you as well.

The answer is "Bill Clinton did worse".

Can we ever have a discussion about the current political situation without this constant comparison? I agree, Bill Clinton was a crook in many ways and deserved to be punished worse than he was. But what does that have to do with George Bush and what he is doing to this country?

I agreed to 4 years with my company if they paid for school. The company now sold my division to another company. The initial agreement was made because I was told I could go anywhere in the company. Now I am stuck with my division, with a new company owner I would not have signed with. Do I have a case?

My wife works in the mental health field. She was hospitalized and missed work for a bit. She returned and her employer said if she worked in a different capacity (half salary position) and for a month without missing any days she would be reinstated back to her old position. She transports DD clients to the pharmacy, stores, doctors, etc. Last week in the late afternoon, a client assaulted her during transport. The next morning she reported it and the company had the client commited involuntarily and told my wife to go to the hospital. She had finger marks on her neck for 4 days and a bruised wind pipe, but otherwise ok. The office told her she could no longer transport clients (odd since everyone does) and to be at a meeting last monday. That meeting was postponed until today. Today she was suspended until she underwent a psychological screening and that after that she may return but the job she was to have reinstated was off the table.

I don't understand why smoking is considered taboo, yet drinking alcohol is widely accepted. You can argue that 2nd hand smoke affects others, but drinking also affects many other people and destroys lives (probably many more than smoking). In my opinion if we are to ban one, we should ban them both. What do you think?

Whatever arguments you can come up with (i.e. dishonest, bad science, bad for America, bad for the world, etc.). Best argument for which film is worse gets 10 points.

The new law

The document emphasizes the need to ensure “the continued function of our form of government under the Constitution, including the functioning of the three separate branches of government,” it states.

But it says flat out: “The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government.”

The document waves at the need to work closely with the other two branches, saying there will be “a cooperative effort among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Federal Government.” But this effort will be “coordinated by the President, as a matter of comity with respect to the legislative and judicial branches and with proper respect for the constitutional separation of powers.”

Among the efforts coordinated by the President would be ensuring the capability of the three branches of government to “provide for orderly succession” and “appropriate transition of leadership.”

My 60k custom Chopper motorcycle was stolen from my 3rd floor parking garage in broad daylight. The only 2 security cameras installed are 1) frontal views of vehicles entering the garage and 2) another frontal view of vehicles exiting the garage. In the State of Florida, front license plates are not mandatory. There are no rear camera views of vehicles entering or exiting to capture plates. On top of the lack of cameras, entry into the garage is by using a key fab. The problem with that is that the garage gate stays up for aproximately 20 seconds which allows other cars to follow in. There are no gate arms to disrupt cars from following other cars in. In speaking with the technology company that installed the security cameras..etc, they have told me that the developer rejected the idea of added security cameras throughout the garage and also rejected the idea of having to use the key fab when exiting the garage as well as use for entry which would have prevented this situation

Carter gets blamed for a lot, but the economic problems predated Carter. The oil shocks began in 1973 when OPEC decided to stop sending oil to the US because it supported Israel. Then OPEC jacked up oil prices by 400%. This led to rationing and lines, which ended by 1976.

Nixon also screwed up because he contracted the money supply by having the Federal Reserve raise interest rates, enacted price and wage controls and a short time later reversed himself and goes to an expansionary monetary policy, which jacked up prices across the board. Nixon ended the dollar conversion to gold which lowered the value of the dollar.

Carter inherited an economy where inflation had been rising since 1965. He appointed Paul Volcker as chair of the Fed, who is actually responsible for bringing inflation down. It just took him until 1982 to get it done. Reagan was just going along for the ride.

After Iraq wouldn't the next logical step be "Operation:Tibetan freedom" AKA WWIII?

I mean you can not just pick to liberate one country and leave all the rest out, the Tibetan people have been waiting for almost 50 years (in 2009). Then after that there are probably some more countries that need liberating, some African countries with corupt goverments and genocide, I belive Ghana still has slavery, and there are even more places....

So where are we going next?
