I dont know about CBC, but the BBC British Broadcasting Corp gives a very honest and Factual Reportage of what is going on in the World. It tells the News as it is conveyed to them totally Impartial . Nothing added or taken away , it receives the Opinions of many different People good or bad without bias. It does not pay Lip service to the Government Propaganda Machine.

Yes, it is true. Also the US public media, National Public Radio, is very anti-American supporting the insane idea that all of the world's problems are the fault of the US. And US taxpayers are forced to pay for their garbage to be broadcast. NPR follows the political line of the left fringe of the Democrat Party.
The problem is that when you have people who are leftist politically reporting news, they cannot help but to evaluate the news according to their own values. These are the types of people who became news people to improve the world by telling the truth as they see it. "As they see it" is the whole problem and the cause of the bias in the news. You may think the BBC is fair and even handed, because they feed into your biases and despise Sky News because it does not.
A bias can come from the media and not be seen if you have the same bias. Only those who disagree with the bias can see it.

Of course they do. It is actually a compliment though damaging due to the lack of education of most people.
News is about the strange, the unusual, the weird.
That's why when a story comes up about bigotry, its about the United States, or some other country that does a magnificent job at equality, not some place like Asia, or African nations, or any other place where bigotry is just the norm.
That's why you see priests on TV when they break the law. Compared to the population of priests as a whole, the percentage that are pedophiles is tiny. Compare that percentage with the general public and you're likely to go find the nearest Catholic church and let them be raised there.
Our representatives deal with the same nonsense. Compared to the general public, they come out looking like saints when studying the statistics, but the public isn't interested in hearing about the last crime an ex-con committed. It's not news.
What is sad is that people confuse news with reality. They think THOSE are the most common crimes.
In their world:
All politicians in the U.S.A. are corrupt.
All police officers commit crimes.
All priests are pedophiles.
The U.S. is a bigoted nation with stupid, insane Presidents.
It's silly, but that's the way they see things.
Having free speech means the very worst of our dirty laundry is always in the public eye, while places who censor, who have limited free speech or no free speech come out looking nice, and clean, and polite.

no, the bbc are not anti USA
their portrail of the us is pretty interesting tho, they arent like tabloid media jumping to conclusions and looking only at the short term. They are aware of all the trade issues and governmental problems faced by modern countries, and present the information as such.
Although this doesn't stop people coming to their own conclusions

No. Hollywood does a perfectly good job portraying America in a negative light. News media do not need to add to the damage that your film industry is doing to your country.

The BBC is not state run.
Its their job too be impartial. They tend to be negative to everyone. And they sum up the anti American feeling in the UK with Iraq and George Bush being incompetent etc.
