The new law

The document emphasizes the need to ensure “the continued function of our form of government under the Constitution, including the functioning of the three separate branches of government,” it states.

But it says flat out: “The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government.”

The document waves at the need to work closely with the other two branches, saying there will be “a cooperative effort among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Federal Government.” But this effort will be “coordinated by the President, as a matter of comity with respect to the legislative and judicial branches and with proper respect for the constitutional separation of powers.”

Among the efforts coordinated by the President would be ensuring the capability of the three branches of government to “provide for orderly succession” and “appropriate transition of leadership.”

Read this Bill for yourself -

It was passed with little to no notice -

It is the framework for martial law and - it means that with an "emergency" Bush does not have to go anywhere

Do you think Bush will go - or will he stay ?

Well, that remains to be seen. He certainly has paved the way for himself to usurp power, if he so chooses. I don't think people take this as seriously as they should, as power hungry as Bush and Cheney are, I really can't see them going quietly. I do hope I am wrong.

No president in United States history has failed to vacate the office when his last constitutionally-available term has expired; and George W. Bush will not be the first to do so.

I wish he'd have never gotten there. He will leave, but let's vote Democratic to ensure his policies leave, too!

If I'm to be 100% accurate he'll leave on January 20th 2009 - inauguration day of the next President. Can't be inaccurate the Left would accuse me of Lying unless I'm 100% accurate.
