Two reasons:
1)That's where the UN said the bad guys, and WMD's were.

2)Now were stuck, with no oil, because we're not allowed to drill or refine our own. It's been this way for over 30 years.

Once we can become self sufficient again, we can let Iran kill whoever they want, and we can expend our forces to cover Darfur.

It is amazing that so many people, just assume, because the US isn't in the Darfur region of the Sudan, that there is no oil there.

They must actually believe tha propaganda that the only reason the US is in Iraq, is because of oil, and since we aren't in the Sudan, there is no oil.

People, the Sudan has oil, alot of oil.

Anyone find it funny, that the people who say the US should get out of Iraq, because it is in a civil war,

Then want the US to get involved in a civil war in the Sudan.

The same people who want Bush tried for war crimes, for " illegally invading " Iraq.

Want him to " illegally invade" Sudan.

Sinple answer:

The reason the world is not in the Sudan.

is because according to the UN Charter, countries must give permission for peace keeping soldiers to be sent into thier country.

The Sudan has refused UN Peace Keepers so far.

The UN could use article 6 of the UN Charter and intervien anyway.

Except China, is blocking any UN Resolutions that might get into that.

China has invested huge amounts of money in the Sudanese oil industry.

So if you wanna blame someone, Blame the government of Sudan and China.

What the heck is our military "The World's Police?" Remember Somalia?? October 3, 1993, 18 U.S. Army Rangers killed for no good reason. Clinton putting our boys in the middle of the city in broad daylight without the proper equipment? Just say no to Darfur!

The United States Covert Operations Units are currently involved deeply in the horn of Africa, extending as far as Sudan, and yes, Darfur. The United States hesitates to involve themselves in Darfur because of the last official military situation that occured there - the Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down) in which close to 2 dozen American Soldiers were killed. The Chinese have invested heavily in the Sudan because of their needs for oil, and since China is a very powerful and influential country in Africa, getting involved in Sudan could spark conflict with a nation known to be growing to become the world's next superpower.

In short, China is too involved in Africa for the United States to get involved without military confrentation - and with Iraq going on, there aren't enough soldiers to do that.

That is why special forces continue to do small missions and operations in the area, but Darfur is on its own.

well were kinda sort of there, not a big force though to be considered anything. Iraq as oil, Dafur doesn't. Bush had a grugde on Iraq he doesn't on Dafur. also bush can't be making any more false claims of WMDs anymore. For those who say Al queda. was Al queda their before we went into Iraq. Iraq is about politics. if Bush really did care about liberation of opressed people Bush would have gone to Darfur.

Darfur is not a world crisis

Iraq was a threat to world peace?!

They were defanged after the Gulf War. After 1992, they had no capability to threaten anyone.

This is why WMD's were never found, and they weren't sent to Syria, Libya, or Pluto. We have satellites that can tell if you're circumcised, from space. Had they have been moved, Bush and Co. would have plastered these photos all over every media outlet available. They found nothing.

Why nothing is being done about Darfur would probaby be best answered by Bush. I'm not an expert in stoopid.

Iraq started first. Darfur would be more of the same of fighting Muslims, except a different part of the globe.
