i'm a little confused...although it doesn't always take much...
if bush was able to pardon libby, just like that, is there a legitimate reason why ramos and compean are doing 11 & 12 years?
i heard libby got the pardon because the sentence was "unreasonably long". wouldn't one think 11 & 12 years is "unreasonably long" for shooting a drug smuggler, (who happens to be an illegal alien who was granted immunity), in the a**?
is what libby did considered treason? or a breach in national security? a federal offense?

I am new to following politics, but am curious what are conservative values. From what I understand, conservative is less government, less spending, diplomacy before war, no abortion, etc. Bush exhibits only one of these. I am not sure if I am repub or democrat so can someone explain what makes Pres Bush a conservative? Everything I know about conservatism I have heard on the Sean Hannity radio show.

I know how much they prefer dependency. Dependency on the government, dependency on the government and dependency on other people’s money.

do liberals have a case of selective memory, the clintons commented perjury several times during their time in the white house, yet served no time in prison, liberals remember mark richard who left the country to avoid prison time, and renouced his citizenship, but clinton pardoned him, because his wife donated to the clinton libary, lets talk sandy burglar, stole classfied documents,no prison, and lets not forget fitzgerold knew who outed valerie wilson, richard armitridge, yet he is free, maybe because he is a democrat, and joe wilson himself outed his wife in his book, yet he is free, liberals get a clue, check to see if your house is clean before you complain about somebodys, dirty house!

Jimmy carter gets mocked because he said he "lusted in his heart" but remained faithful to his wife. Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Rudy Guiliani, Anotnio Villaraigosa, Gavin Newsome etc. have all cheated and switched spouses like it the thing to do. Yet we ridicule the politician who was honest about temptation. What is wrong with Americans? We get in a tizzy over adulterers, but fry the man who actually respects his marriage?

Almost every time I read a question someone has found a way to do some liberal bashing. It’s like these people don’t even know what the word means. Hate liberals all you want, but at least know what you hate. Without liberal thinkers the world would be a lot different. Dictionaries still exist people, use them.

Libby was brought in front of investigators with his lawyer, read his rights, and answered questions that were deemed by others to be a lie and he was found guilty of perjury. His lies were apparently trying to cover up an action some thought was a crime, but was not a crime at all since Plame was not a secret agent.

BJ Clinton was brought before a judge, swore an oath to tell the truth, and with his lawyers present he lied about a personal matter in order to protect himself in a civil case against him. A case he later settled.

They were both convicted of perjury - actually BJ Clinton admitted it and Libby hasn't. In Libby's case he was covering up a non crime, and in BJ Clinton's case he was trying to defeat a complaint against him and lost. So who should get more time?

Should I dump my LIBERAL boyfriend?
Usually the nonsense he spouts (DIEBOLD) is kind of cute, but in wartime his instinctive idiocy is life-threatening.

While the form of treachery varies slightly from case to case, he always manages to take the position that most undermines American security.

Whether he is defending the terrorists or bleating for Saddam Hussein, he is always rooting against America. He is either a traitors or an idiot, and on the matter of America's self-preservation, I think the difference is irrelevant.

On top of all this, he just quit his job at Qwicki Mart where he bagged groceries. I used to find him attractive. Now when I see him in his MoveOn.org hat & his Down with America shirt I get sick to my stomach. What should I do?

If so, I have some disappointing news for them:

Tuesday, July 3, 2007 11:18 a.m. EDT

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has rejected a proposal by Oscar-winning movie director Oliver Stone to make a film about him because Stone is part of the "Great Satan" cultural establishment, a semiofficial news agency reported.

"I sent a negative answer by Ahmadinejad to Oliver Stone," the Fars agency quoted Mehdi Kalhor, media adviser to the president, as saying Sunday. "It is right that this person is considered part of the opposition in the U.S., but opposition in the U.S. is a part of the Great Satan."

This is not the first time Stone has attempted to create a hagiographic film about a dictator. In 2002 Stone filmed a controversial documentary praising Castro. He has repeatedly said that he admires the communist dictator.

I do not know why every one is bashing Hillary so bad. I think she would bring some change into the American political mainstream. Why is it that the highest position in the United States of America must always be filled with males? Isn't about time to change? And is it about time to fill it with women? Let's face it women are smart , intelligent and highly educated. Nevertheless, I hope she will win. Cause she could make this country change into a different directions. What's your thought on that?

Since they clearly do not care about the health and safety of their own people/environment, let alone anyone elses, are we going to continue buying their products? I am not - I am now going to check carefully and not buy ANYTHING made in China.
