I beg to differ. McCain was never "joined at the hip" with President Bush. The 1st Amendment busting McCain-Fiengold Bill which became law plus his embrace of the Kennedy Immigration Bill are two major items that doomed any chance of McCain ever becoming president.

Hillary and Obama were joined at the hip with the President and Kennedy, on the Amnesty try to sneak it through thing. Difference is , McCain was open to the public about his hip being joined to the President, while Hillary and Obama voted to pass the Amnesty Bill, they sure do not want that made to public or their supporters may start to disappear also, which I hope it does. I think all politicians, no matter what party they are suppose to represent (hard to tell now days), get voted out of office and do not get elected, if they voted to pass that Amnesty bill, we all need to hang them out to dry, like they were trying to do us.

Yes. His campaign is weak, and while most other front runners for the GOP have managed to disassociate themselves from failures in Iraq and remain "strong on defense," McCain directly tied himself to the day-to-day conditions on the ground in Iraq.
Beyond that, he looks old, moves slow, and even friends question his aptitude.

unwavering support for the Iraq war +
mixed messages resulting from his constant, muddled attempt to ride this "maverick" line +
TWO major shakeups of his campaign staff due to finance problems +
Co-Sponsorship of a flawed and wildly unpopular immigration bill +
virtually no support from the Christian right +
Embracing crankiness as his primary campaign image =
McCain is done.
I don't know what this "joined at the hip" thing you claim (I always thought he personally hated Bush) has to do with it. but I assure you, there were enough strikes already.

McCain was finished BEFORE he ever started. He went downhill even faster after his 'stroll' through the Baghdad marketplace. Then picked up speed when he sang "Bomb Iran."
Can it get any better for Senator McCain? Give him a chance, he will find a gaffe that best fits him.

I don't know if its finished but it is extremely hobbled. He had the air of inevitability last year and look at him now. It is sad but it took him 2 quarters to raise what it took a few of his competitors 1 quarter to raise. If this slide continues next quarter, then he will be bye bye.
He hitched his wagon to this war, and suspension of a tenet of our constitution- habeas corpus, then that ill fated " safe' stroll through a Baghdad market is what really flushed his campaign into the crapper so far.

Many people seem to think that McCain is too old to serve as president. Others dislike his "sell out" to some of the democrats. Personally, I hope he is not finished. He is one that I will vote for if he is nominated

No.
Your premise is flawed, therefore you have an incorrect conclusion.
Very poor reasoning for you, & for McCain.
McCain lost because:
1. He was against Bush's Tax Cuts for us Working People.
2. The McCain/Feingold Campaign Finance Hoax, which took Freedom away from politics, and let Democrats run amock.
3. Immigration.
He's a good man. But..... he trusted Democrats toooo much. Democrats always betray the USA.
When will McCain & Bush learn: never trust Democrats.
All of us Working People know THAT!
