Are they fooling anyone other than that dwindling 20-25% of diehard administration supporters, or can thoughtful moderates see through this slander for the Goebbels-like propaganda it truly is?

Well it is not defensible. But then the whack jobs here on yahoo answers aren't really conservatives. They are blind ideological zealots who have checked their brains at the door and are happy adhering to talking points.

The only people they are convincing is themselves. They blather on about it like a bunch of rabid parrots and think people besides themselves actually believe it. The 25%'ers don't have much else to hold onto these days besides character assassination and over the top pronouncements they got from Bush's "you're with us or against us" mentality. No one takes this claptrap seriously but them. I guess it's good that they have each other to cling to, otherwise they'd be awfully lonely.

The word morality is so beyond the understanding of your average neo-con, that bothering to ask for a definition would make their heads explode.

Since they no longer have a baseline to determine what a moral action is, they just drift aimlessly and finger point at things they fear, shouting their dogmatic nonsense.

Please, keep asking them! Maybe one will make a real effort to explain this situation away.

Morally defensible, you're kidding, right? It seems to me the pace of the lunatic questions keeps getting faster as the elections approach. The Libby commutation has just about started a feeding frenzy on lib questions. I think they just like hearing the echo, it makes them feel like there are more people agreeing with them.

A traitor is defined as someone who gives 'aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war'. I'd say that actively cheering against our efforts to defeat the enemy gives them great comfort. Lincoln jailed people for less during the Civil War.

All you really have to do is read Dekardkain's response to realize they don't have a sensible, nor reasonable, bone in their body. Poor things. I pity them.

NO.

Rightwingers can only win arguments and elections by lying, smearing, and cheating.

But it works, so they will just keep doing it, because the mainstream media are their partners in crime.

I don't refer to you as traitors. I do concern myself when I see how far left many of the people in your party are leaning.

Europe is left and now they're realizing just how badly they've sunk themselves into the hole because of bad ideology. So nope, not traitors... But dangerous? YES!
