Japan's defense minister just resigned for suggesting that dropping the bombs was the only way US could end the war and it saved Japanese lives and territory (Russia invasion was imminent). I tend to agree with him (even though his view is not popular in Japan). Revisionist historians have suggested that the war could have been ended without dropping the A-Bombs. All I know is that my Dad and a lot of other soldiers were preparing to invade Japan, and they fully expected it to be a blood bath. Thank God for Truman! He saved a lot of lives and gave the world a first class demonstration of the horrors of nuclear weapons.

And just do the job they are elected to do?

What is wrong with our politicians that they think that you have to provide a legal status to criminals before they enforce our current laws? Maybe if they're that brain dead, we should look to find some more intelligent politicians to represent our country. Any suggestions as to who will do a better job in the upcoming election?

I roared with laughter this AM when I saw her pontificating last night about how Bush's commutation of Libby's sentence was an example of "cronyism". Her audience lapped it up like dogs licking anti-freeze off the driveway, even though her husband Bill was squatting on the stage a few feet away.

You kiddies who are too young to remember should know that her husband issued no less than 140 full pardons on his final day in office, including one to his own half brother Roger Clinton and one to a money launderer who paid Hillary's brother Hugh Rodham $200,000 to represent him.

What I mean is, why doesn't the President of the United States go to wherever the American Government meets every Wednesday and answer questions about the country, like in the UK? Are they afraid they'll mess up? Because the whole point of the Prime Minister's Question Time is to test how skilled the Prime Minister is at dealing with queries and issues. Why doesn't the President do the same?? To be honest, I can't see George Bush coping with it. But I'd like to know! Thank you!

Do you believe it was right for President Bush to essentially pardon him? What effect (if any) will this have on the Bush administration? Does this change your opinion of government?

As a liberal, I'm with the latter. I think there are certain things only a democratic government can do best.

For example, printing money, holding armies, serving justice (police, courts, prisons), giving every single citizen the opportunity to get educated regardless of the social class they were born into, ending child labor, owning highways and public parks, and stopping private corporations (controlled by only a hanful of people) from abusing workers, scamming the consumer, and polluting the environment.

"Four Italian management consultants have come up with a novel way to get ahead in business - read fewer textbooks and watch more films. ...all good films teach lessons about behaviour. ...High-quality films, though, can offer lessons about problem-solving and teamwork as well as focusing on issues such as globalisation and diversity" UNQUOTE above article.

What movies would you recommend to your MilitaryBoss to watch and learn from?

Do you believe in the CONCEPT of certain movies as being viable for the job you do there today.. if not the end result?.. if so, which film CONCEPT works for you in your mind, yet won't be tried and tested in real life?

just want to know why everyone is so angry over the war in iraq? i asked some questions about troops in iraq, and people get so bent out of shape, is it because i dont care about the so called sacrifice? or is it because people understand that many people dont care about the so called sacrifice? i am willing to bet after this war is said and done, that we will have a terrorist attack as big if not bigger than 911, it sucks to imagine but i dont see this war helping anything.

When cons were criticizing Clinton for every little thing when he was president, Democrats didn't resort to the treason card like cons do all the time.

Let me put it another way. Cons accuse libs of hating America because we see problems that need fixing. For example, Micheal Moore on healthcare. Yet, conservatives do the same thing. They're always criticizing some aspect of America whether it's the universities, professors, teachers, scientific organizations, popular culture, hollywood, historians, secularists, humanists, feminists, etc, etc,

And yet liberals DO NOT resort to accusing conservatives of hating America.

LET ME ADD THIS:
Imagine if people decided in the past that America had reached its pinnacle of excellence and no more change was required. Slavery would have never been eliminated. Women and minorities would never have gotten their equal rights and things like interracial marraige would still be illegal.
