2. Barrabas

If I remember right, didn't the conservative Pontius Pilate pardon Barrabas and crucify Jesus Christ?

Now, please read this and other items regarding the question before blurting out some tripe. I am looking for an answer regarding the delineation of the rights of the people, the states and the federal government as it concerns education.

There are many sources for information,

my position and point is, we have a runaway Congress with a lust for power, the 10th Amendment has all but been ignored since FDR and so much of what the Fed does today and what you expect are really the responsibility of the States and the People, not the Fed.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Public education is not granted to the US nor prohibited to the states and as such, the Fed should stay out of it.

Dear lord people. Wake up, the "rise" of Islamofascism will make Hitler look like Romper Room. WWII lasted what 4 years and we are talking about the war on terror taking DECADES. If people acted like some of you do during WWII we would have never dropped the "bomb" and we would have never won that one either. This war will last DECADES!!! It's a war we must win if you don't want your grandkids wearing BURKAS. The terrorists say that American has a weak stomach and you guys just proved their point. War is Hell but the war HAS TO BE WON

Any responses?

With their infernal racial set-asides, racial quotas, and race norming, liberals share many of the Klan's premises. The Klan sees the world in terms of race and ethnicity. So do liberals! Indeed, liberals and white supremacists are the only people left in America who are neurotically obsessed with race. Conservatives champion a color-blind society based on merit NOT skin color.

I am a Christian and I really dont think I will be able to vote for any candidate. It seems as if all the GOP candidates are just Democrats, posing as Republicans. No candidates that I have seen have fundamental Christian values. Does anyone else feel this way?

I took my belongings to a Uhaul storage unit in a taxi. I asked one of the employees where I should set my belongings while I went into the desk to obtain my key/paperwork. The employee told me where to set my things, I went in to get the key, and when I came back out, half of my belongings had been stolen. Is Uhaul responsible for this?

The founding fathers gave the president the exclusive right to pardon or commute the sentence , of anyone he saw fit .

Need I Say Another Word ?

What is the purpose of asking if he should be impeached or charged with a crime ?

I disagreed with many pardons that Clinton handed out , but never for a second questioned his legal right to do so .

When did their "values" get derailed?

2007-07-03 06:50:50 · 17 answers · asked by Chi Guy 5 in Politics

You've probably seen the news this morning: President Bush let Cheney aide Scooter Libby, the one man who was convicted for the lies around the Iraq war, go free. Paris Hilton served more jail time than he will.

Bush and Cheney think their administration is above the law. That's un-American, and this July 4th it's time for Congress to re-assert its constitutional authority and stop the administration's obstruction of justice.

Congress can start by demanding answers from the Bush administration about the Iraq war and their illegal spying program, and not backing down until they get them. Cheney won't testify? Subpoena him. He won't come? Hold him in contempt of Congress and send over the police. And if that doesn't work, impeach the guy. We just can't let President Bush and his administration dismantle our Constitution.

Republican presidential contender Tom Tancredo on Monday said "it's not impossible" to deport the estimated 12 million immigrants living in the United States illegally.

Such action would take years and would be difficult but could be accomplished, he said.

The Colorado congressman, however, argued that tougher border security and a crackdown on employers would reduce the need for mass deportations and encourage such immigrants to return to their native countries willingly.

"It's attrition through enforcement," he said.

Tancredo described his views on illegal immigration and other issues during a meeting with Des Moines Register editors and reporters.

Illegal immigration is the cornerstone of Tancredo's bid for the presidency - it's an issue he described as a "clash of civilizations."

He said illegal immigration and a lack of assimilation among immigrants here legally threaten the United States nationally and globally.

"I think we are the last, best hope of Western civilization," he said.

Tancredo said legal immigration should be curbed at 250,000 people per year to ensure proper assimilation. More than 700,000 were granted U.S. citizenship in 2006, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Tancredo said that people who describe him as xenophobic are wrong and that he fully supports diversity.

He cited his Italian heritage and its importance to him and his family as examples of his respect for ethnic and cultural identity. Tancredo's elders always stressed the importance of assimilation into American culture, he said.

"You can't have diversity as the only national character," he said. " ... You need something that holds us together."

His remarks came on the tail end of a weekend campaign swing through Iowa.
Illegal invaders go home. Legal immigrants assimilate. Tancredo is right - you absolutely can deport 12 million criminals. Build the wall. Cut off the social aid. Punish employers. Stop educating their illegal spawn. Deport people you catch - the rest will go home. Without free social services or work - they would be forced to leave.
