Its the 4th of July and my boyfriend has illegal fireworks. Well the city has a ZERO TOLERANCE ordinance. He lite FIRECRACKERS (not M80's or anything super dangerous) Someone on the block called the police and complained. The police came out in an unmarked car and came walking up the street. He had a couple small credit card size packs in his hand with the lighter. Well, they confiscated them and cuffed him. Escorted him to the car and never read him his miranda rights. They did question him but not at the station. Were his rights violated? I checked the web for info and it said they didnt have to read his miranda rights only if they further interrogated him and he was detained. Any thoughts?

I was wondering how all of this works, He spoke with a recruiter, took some sort of test, chose his field and now goes for some other type of test plus a physical tomorrow. At this point is it a done deal? What could get in his way? Will he come home with a date and time to head to Fort Benning...which is where they said he would go.

there is a loan my ex spouse and I are splitting in half and its in our divorce papers. I have not received any money for the loan, and the loan is just in my name. I dont know what to do, what i can do, or if there is anything at all i can do. I was told I can take my ex spouse to court and have their wages garnished... the thing is they live in oregon, and i live in california, will that cause conflict?

Accept my husband if he has gout?
Every now and then he has gout flare up in either one foot or both at the same time and is unable to walk.
He's only 29 years old and it's uncommon for someone his age to have this condition.
He really wants to join but is afraid if he has a gout flare up while in boot camp they will give him a dishonorable discharge.
Could this happen or if he did have gout in boot camp what would happen to him?

I don't understand why i am banned forever when other people can get them if they have a feloney but i can't. what makes one crime worse then the other. do they want people who want to change their ways around to go back out to crime so they can make money to eat because our country can't help us. You see, this is just as stupid a question as the one about wanting people to speak english.

America should be grateful that Spanish is so prevalent, because bilingualism enhances people's overall learning abilities.

I understand some states allow people who are registered as independents or un-affiliated to vote in the Republican and?/or democratic primary.

Which states do something like this?

An old friend posteda message today on a blog about what are we really celebrating on the 4th of july.. and it offended me.. please tell me your opinions. thanks:
On this July 4, we would do well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed.

Is not nationalism — that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder — one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?
Our citizenry has been brought up to see our nation as different from others, an exception in the world, uniquely moral, expanding into other lands in order to bring civilization, liberty, democracy.
That self-deception started early.
We see in Iraq that our soldiers are not different. They have, perhaps against their better nature, killed thousands of Iraq civilians.some soldiers have shown themselves capable of brutality, of torture...

I know that most naturally evolved countries like Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, and Norway all have non-European populations of 10 percent or less. And in Japan although the non-Japanese population is 1.2% the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country has stated that the foreign population should be 3 percent or below. How did they come up with the 3 percent figure? I did email them but they never responded. Do you think it the 3 percent figure was studied some way? Or did they just throw out a random number? If they did study it, what factors would be involved? How do you think the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided that the 3 percent figure was enough? I am interested in this sort of thing, because I want to be a demographer.

**naturally evolved: formed overtime, not man made like the USA, Canada etc.

I don't like the job I have now. I recently told my recruiter that I would like to switch rates and she said that she is going to try whatever it takes to change my job before I leave for boot camp. She said she will find the other jobs I was qualified for and if there are available spots for the different job I want. She also said if worse comes to worse, I would have to ship off to boot camp and change my job there during the 2nd or 3rd week. Is it possible? Does a classifier talk to every single recruit about their job? Because I know during boot camp, its going to be very on schedule and im going to be consistently doing something so it won't give me the time to ask or request for a classifier. The MAIN THING I am afraid of is that I will not have the chance to talk to a classifier and that I will be stuck with the job I really don't want. Thanks for the people who answer. Joining navy btw

I feel that one of the major problems hurting the American people is that businesses can effectivelly bully laws that help their individual business at the cost of hurting the American taxpayer as a whole.

If politicians recieve no money from businesses, big or small, then they can make a more logical decision without having to fear that in the next election they might not have enough money to win re-election because all politicians will be in the same boat.

Some examples of businesses that have recieved sweet deals from congress at cost to the taxpayer:

Drug Companies
Insurance/HMOs
Gas/Oil Companies
Lenders/Banking/Credit Card Companies

I feel we need to take back the power from these companies that they have used against us. This is OUR country.

Star me if you agree and add your thoughts.
