OK 1st off this has been answered by many others but you have to be 18 to buy a rifle and 21 to buy a handgun and there are back ground checks. I'm GCIC certified and last time I went to buy a gun I got a hold put on me. Still don't know why on that but It was cleared the next day. So I don't see a 2 year old getting a gun...for one thing I don't see them being able to do the paperwork.
Next If your talking about the Virginia Tech massacre. That was not carried out by a United States Citizen. He was a South Korea national. Which mean he came to our country then kill our citizens.
I also agree with others this is our country and if people don't like it get the hell out.

Well, I'm a guy that shot my first .22 rifle at 5 and by 12 had my own .22 plus a shotgun plus a Benjamin Pump pefllet gun for practicing at home in the 'burbs. So my answer is a question: Why SHOULDN'T a 16-year-old have a bb or pellet gun? Of course, I grew up in a time when you asked for permission before turing on the TV or radio and the answer was often "no", you said grace before meals, went to church every Sunday, all adults were addressed as "Ma'am" and "Sir", you went to bed at 9PM, you got up at 6 and did chores before school, came home and did more chores and you mowed the old lady's grass next door for free because it was the "neighborly" thing to do. If you are that kind of kid and make good grades in school and understand that you can kill things with your gun and that the police can kill YOU if you do something stupid with it, they why wouldn't you be allowed to have one? "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walk." Thomas Jefferson, in a letter written in Paris to his nephew and ward Peter Carr,

There is not a law that will give any child age 2 a license for a gun. You are basically a liar. We are constitutionally within our rights to have guns to protect our families in this country. We the People of the United States of America, and not illegal aliens from Mexico.

Are you watching another Michael Moore movie or something?
You cannot buy a Rifle unless you are 18 and over
You cannot buy a Hangun unless you are 21 and over.
Most of the legally purchased guns are not even used in a crime, became criminals don't go to a gun shop to legally purchase a gun (all gun shops in the United States have to do a background criminal check before they even let you buy a gun).
Most criminals don't go to the gun shops that the law abiding go to, criminals prefer to go to the black markets (because the black markets leave no trace).
No 2 year olds are ever given a license to carry a gun, I dunno where you heard this from, but I am betting probably Michael Moore as he already spewed forth numerous lies just so he could make the kind of money that would be enough to buy fancy French cuisine and 17th Century French Wine.

The gun was a gift from his grandpa. The dad was just obeying the law registering the firearm in the kid's name, which if the dad would have registered it in his he would have violated.
Unfortunately, some states think they have the right to violate an individuals right to privacy and require gun registration.
Good job of generalizing. Next time stay out of Amsterdam before you try to sound intelligent.

there is no such law where a 2 year old can obtain a license to purchase a gun. Country wide, 18 for rifles, 21 for handguns, and the waiting periods vary by state. If you do not like it here, I hear france is looking for some nice liberal anti gun nuts.

Because we don't believe a government should control weapons like the gestapo. We believe that the government should control as little as possible.
