I have got work permit- and i want to apply for work permit visa from India (since I am indian national). I am wondering how long will take to get visa?

Keep on wondering as with the recent arrest of Indian doctors with regard to terrorist activity in UK the visa process for Indian can take long time & it can include your security check by the law enforcement agencies in India on the request of UK government.

as you are in the UK on work permit you can file from UK if you still hold 3 months valid visa to UK from the the date you return to UK or else you need to file from India. and for your wife she can not file from UK.
