I suggest you go lay on a couch and talk to someone.
You have some issues you need to discuss...seriously.

Well I am not a cop !!!!! ( I like people)
but I believe it is probably because they are afraid if they live where they work they are asking for trouble. Most of them are crooked and if you set up the wrong guy and that guy happens to see you at the grocery store... well I think you get it.
The saying goes... Don't **** where you eat.
I hope you don't take the insults from the cops who answer your question to seriously.
If you read other questions they don't like you will see they always have 'come backs' that revolve around violence and name calling.
I bet you thought when people grew up they stopped bulling others huh, nope. Cops either never grow up or they never stop bulling or maybe it's both. Sick that they are allowed weapons huh! Then they wonder why good law abiding citizens feel so much resentment towards them and feel as though we honestly just can not trust em.
Although I did find one cop that is trustworthy!
He is actually a cop for all the right reasons and he is good and kind and always happy to help. Great guy, rare find in that profession!
Wish we had a lot more of 'em.

Dude, you need to get out more.
1. Why do you care where the cops live?
2. What are you.. a stalker?? How do you know where they live?
3. Your unusual interest in where they live makes me think that their living elsewhere is a very GOOD idea.
Maybe you should find a hobby and not fret so much about stuff that is really not any of your business.

I'm not a N.Y.C. cop, but I tried living in the big Apple most of my life.
The biggest problem is the attitudes of many people.
It seems to be getting better now that many residents have found out they own studio apartments worth a small fortune.
Everyone surrounds their house with gates, big iron gates on windows and covering everything.
That has to say something about their new found wealth.

maybe because the city is apperantly filled with abusive citizens. calm down. all cities have some sort of suburb where the professionals who can afford it get out and live in. dont be upset because you cant afford the move. get a better job and quit complaining about the men and women who have to come into town and patrol your miserable neighborhood. so why dont you just sit back, talk about how you wish you could be jeters love slave and quit filling this forum with drivel.

$$$$ and how about this? I bust scumbag Joe for beating up his old lady. Now 3 days later he's out because his old lady is "sorry for callin' da cops". I'm out, trying to have dinner with my girlfriend. We're walking out to get a cab, when scumbag Joe stumbles by. Of course hes leaving the bar, surely on his way home to tune up his old lady again for burning his Chicken Pot Pie. Hes with two of his buddies and hes real **** talker. He decides to back up his big talk.
So regardless of the outcome, why the #$% would I want to subject myself to that kind of chance encounter, messing up my private life?

TRUE THAT!!!!!!! Same in Chi-Town, they are police officers in Chicago yet live in the suburbs, although there is a law that they should reside in the city. Even police officers do not follow the rules!
