Do you know what total war is about??
Germany was developing the bomb too!
Had plans for Washington DC strike!
Japan attacked and declared war on USA
Japan raped and killed in China women (preg) and children.
Sex slaves and slaves during WWII. They in slaved the Asian countries for their purpose.
They did the same as Germany did with experiments on non Japanese.
USA destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki to save millions of lives both USA and Japanese.
The nation that killed the most in WWII is Russia. Stalin killed
more than Germany in its purge for Communism.
Sooo if you declare war on a country, do you take a knife to a pistol fight?
And who are you asking this question sitting in your chair safe from harm paid by your country men and women with their blood.

That was over 60 years ago. At the time it was the fastest way to end the war. The world is not the same place as it was in the 1940's.

for all you idiots out there who do not read history let me tell you, if we did not use the atomic bombs on japan there would have at an estimated guess almost a million american casualties. would that make you feel better dead americans and dead japanesse? if you have to think about it then leave the usa you don't deserve to live here. i read some of these answers and i wonder how many of you need a drug test and which one of you are crack babies.

Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were MILITARY targets.

You know we could have bombed Tokyo, but we didn't. We were just trying to save as many lives as possible and dropping the two bombs actually minimized the total lives lost. This would be obvious to anyone that reads history.

Estimates are that 100 million, yes 100 million, people died in WW2...It was time for an end....I feel for the poor Japanese people, but I'm glad that Truman saved my both of my Granpas lives when he ordered those bombs dropped...

Is your third world country just finding out about this now?

We were attacked, not the other way around.

Iran is calling for our destruction, we aren't calling for theirs.

Why would we not do everything we can to stop a nation that has called for our destruction or the destruction of our allies.

Your comments are silly. WE don't use it anymore. We keep them, because nations that have clearly said they want us destroyed have them as well.
