Why has that become so expected of you people ?

Israel was given a piece of land by the UK and shortly thereafter and to the surprise of many the tiny placve had what is called the 6 day war - They occupied the other state of Palistine - That was called an ilegal occupation 40 years ago -
Israel is still in full force occupation of that land
Now before the creation of Israel there was a Jewish minority in the land - they all seemed to get along (at least a lot better than they do now ) No they were not arm in arm singing songs but better
Now Israel has done a lot of work on the land - Made mass improvements in a short time. The landscape of the geography is vastly differnet and better than it was
The "war " that the Palistinians lost in less than 6 days - has set the population at each others throats - it has gotten worse and worse
In truth the Palisitians have been horrible negotiators on their own behalf - often fighting battles they can't win and hardening the Israeli stance -at best stupid on the Pal part

seem to be the worst offenders by trying to hide the most? Secret energy meetings, refusing to turn over records, suspension of habeus corpus, torture...and I know there's more but I just can't recall.

I'm Italian and I'm so desperate for the point we have come to in my country, I'm really considering moving abroad for good,
There's nothing but a bleak outlook for young people, tons of euros wasted by politicians for their own interests, corruption, more taxes, less services, uncertain future, graduated young people exploited in call centers paid 500 euros per month and not able to afford moving out their parents house (you can't even afford food to live one month with 500 euros).

The situation is really serious, is the same in the US?

Thank goodness the Republicans stopped them.

They passed a similar bill before so that oil company's would be forced to contribute to new energy alternatives.

Results ended up being that the oil companies passed the cost down to the consumers.

This guy...he's quite a character!

His arguement for not turning over these records. He tried to say that as the President of the Senate he holds a bridge between the Legislative and Executive offices and as part of the Legislature he isn't required under the law to release his personal records to the Archive!

Alright, I am against the war...I am against Bush, damned Republicans...Okay so its 14% approval rating he has...oops. As for medical care, how much does it cost to go to hospital and have surgery mmmm....its not free, despite hospital policies of helping all, people lose everything for a couple MRI's etc. As for my comment on the hungry and homeless people in our country, they come first, screw the hungry in third world countries, our people should come first. As for death tolls, our generals are raising them higher to bolster us for the war, it will never happen. I never once said I wasnt proud of our soldiers. As for BUSH pointing the finger at Iraq, give me one good reason why, just one reason why our troops werent sent in force into AFG to get the one terrorist that started us on the path whe are currently on. No, cant do that, Saddam MIGHT have WMD's, thats what our people in CIA told us..mmmm...Osama started it all, and once again our mighty military let him go.MMMM

Why can't conservatives and liberals treat each other with respect, and stop calling each other names just because they have different ideological and political views?

I consider myself to be a moderate with more liberal leanings.
I have very good friends who are conservatives, and we get along very well.

I've had some very stimulating conversations with my conservative friends, and we have never called each other bad names, even though we have different ideological views on politics.

In contrasting our style versus the Israelis, it seems that they would go to the source. We on the other hand seem to try to neutralize the bombs after they are planted or perhaps search for them in storage areas. We also provide body armor to our military personnel and armor the vehicles. We should continue to do these things but add military strikes over Iran to destroy the factories used to make bombs. We should also destroy all the roads and bridges leading into Iraq. Israel did this with Lebanon and it was a big success. We can tell the world that we must do this for the safety of our soldiers and marines.
