seem to be the worst offenders by trying to hide the most? Secret energy meetings, refusing to turn over records, suspension of habeus corpus, torture...and I know there's more but I just can't recall.

As a true conservative, I know that this has stripped me of my freedom and don't like it one bit.

I wish that my fellow conservatives would read this Patriot Act and realize that it's about government control and not for freedom.

Freedom first, party second.

That was the patriotic cry of every German. If you are a good republican you will never mind the loss of all your rights. It is a good reason to start the war to get the domestic population under control. To do this we are all giving up our rights and if you are a patriot you must agree. The supreme commander will do for you what you need done. You must agree this is all bull and resist authority.

They have no idea why they were told to say that.

They passed the Patriot Act before it was written. It is the fastest submitted and passed Bill ever in the History of our Republic.

I doubt is there is a single seated Congressman that has read it.

Another question that will go unanswered, and point well taken.

It's the old,"you can't have it both ways" situation. If they can say,"Let them snoop, I have nothing to hide," then this should apply to basically benign records like Cheney's guests.

because it's true.... there is nothing wrong with the Patriot Act, and you have the MCA mixed in there.. now if you want to complain about an act that affects American Citizens look into the Domestic Security Enhancement Act .. that is the one you should be complaining about

Because the people in power just want more power. They want to give you that warm fuzzy feeling as they search your home. Then they take away your children, load you up, and haul you off to a FEMA camp with the rest of the political dissidents. Of course this all happens over the period of several years, so no one has to worry about it yet.

As I recall, a guy named McCarthy said something similar in the 1950s. Consider the source.
