Awhile ago my son told me of a good friend who had enlisted. My son was upset with him, but understood that he wanted to get training for a good job. When he told me, his friend had just received orders to go to Iraq. That was a month ago. The boy was only there for three weeks and was killed. My son is taking it very hard.

What a senseless war! All because some extremists saw some 'I Love Lucy' reruns and decided that we were evil and needed to be wiped off of the face of the planet?

That boy will never marry, never know the joy of having children... What a horrible mess.

That we have lived in a time when the two best ever politicians Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were in power.

Tony Blair got a standing ovation at the house of commons , when he said his final goodbye to the house, which is unprecedented .

We have a powerful replacement in Gordon Brown, The Americans have had to suffer with George Bush, what a contrast between bush and Clinton division 5 and premiership.

Clinton and Bush had a social conscience and worked for the good of everyone rich and poor, Bush doesn't understand that principle. I hope Hillary gets elected, she will be an amazing leader for America. Intelligence, integrity, quality's Bush certainly does not have.

Since last few years we saw a new trend of suicide attacks. and the number of such attacks increasing gradually. what would be the reasons? can someone kill himself for money? can someone kill himself just to hurt others? can someone kill himself just for a thrill? can someone kill himself just to fulfill the desire of his master/ leader? or can someone kill himself just to tease or bother others?

This is probably going to send a flak my way, but it's a genuine question. Look at the following charts on the inequality of physical fitness between men and women in the military:
http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/apa/rc/apft.htm
http://www.af.mil/news/USAF_Fitness_Charts.pdf
http://tkdtutor.com/11Training/NavyPRT/NavyPRTstandards.htm

I believe in equality for women, but according to that they're not equal they get paid the same as a male servicemember but testing on an easier level.

Again, I would like to apologize to the women who are going to call me a chauvinist pig, I swear this is an honest to God, genuine question I don't know the answer to.
(I HATE trying to be political correct)
Also, this is not a question of competency, there are women I've met in the military that make me look like a shitbag, merely a question on the minimum testing everyone in the military must go through.

I was recently talking to a friend of mine online (I don't know him in real life, but I met him playing a videogame online) and he was telling me about how he doesn't have any real-life friends and that it's hard for him to make friends because he's so self-conscious about how he looks and all that (he's like your standard case of the videogame geek with acne).

Anyway, he went on to tell me more about how he hasn't really done anything with his life after high school, and he's just going to a community college not knowing what he wants to do in life, still living at home with mom, and all sorts of other depressing things. He spends almost all of his time at home in his room playing this online video game and thinks his life is really dreary and that there's no purpose (though I don't know if he is suicidal or not: I hope not) and that he might just sign his life away to the Army to be a part of something and not feel so lonely all the time.

I'm no therapist: what should I tell him?

Pretty much every time I turn on a news program or talk about politics with people I hear some version of "Well, whether or not you agree with Bush, you should support him BECAUSE HE IS THE PRESIDENT."

Theodore Roosevelt once said "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

I'm not asking whther you think we have a RIGHT criticise or question - because we DO, (1st ammendment - read it!) but whether you think people should.

What are your thoughts on these two opposing opinions?
