Why have questions like yours become so expected by you people?

Generals, like anyone else serving, are responsible to the people for their actions as that is who they serve. This is not WW II and there have been enough issues on the ground in Iraq to take a year to go over. The Republican congress chose to give up all oversight to the president, which is wrong! It just got taken back!

Since they confirm them now, you damn right they have a duty to find out why we have been at war almost 5 years with no end in sight! The General was one who was in high command of the debacle in Iraq, and yes, he has to answer the hard questions BEFORE he is given the authority to command over the military. This war has been botched from the start! Twenty-five dead in 4 days! Ridiculous!

Disagreeing with the war in Iraq doesn't make one a liberal. I supported the war in the beginning because I believed that Iraq was producing weapons of mass destruction. President Bush initially gave this as the reason for the war. After it was discovered that there were no such weapons, the President said that we were there for regime change,i.e., Sadam was an evil man. Now we are in Iraq for democracy. As Senator Kerry once observed, I wonder what explanation Bush is going to give next month. Liberal politicians are not bashing America's generals. In fact, quite a few recently retired generals are complaining about how the government is conducting the war. I am not anti Bush; I just oppose how he handled the war. I think that you are oversimplifying complex political issues.

So now the qualifiers for being "true liberals" is to be against the death penalty for murderers and to disagree with generals.

Since when was criticism the same as bashing?

That's funny. Half the Generals have retired in disgust over this administrations mishandling of the military.

Not true.

The real question is why do neo-cons NOT defend the generals that Bush removed who turned out to be right all along?
