Please consider the following, and review the links if you don't believe the claims:

1) There is a consensus among climate science experts that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgCxBALgHOtjhactMX_WFDjsy6IX?qid=20070623154358AAMwRrZ

2) They have come to this consensus because measurements and models cannot account for the recent acceleration in global warming from "natural causes" including the sun. Since 1960, they estimate that 70-95% of global warming is due to greenhouse gases:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Climate_Change_Attribution.png

3) The consequences of not slowing global warming will be very bad within a few decades, at most.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArWwA7u27SODHeZEr2j6ctTsy6IX?qid=20070623160517AAcvFGc

Considering this evidence, are you still skeptical that humans are the primary cause of the recent global warming, and if so, why? Rational answers, please.

My 10 year old step daughter has been placed in care with her neighbour due to suffering physical and mental abuse by my ex. Trouble is, she is now sharing a room with an 11 year old boy. also, the 'carer' is a disabled woman who's 15 year old son is HER registered carer as she is incapable of looking after herself.
Now to me, that means that Social Services have basically placed my step daughter in the care of a 15 year old boy.
Am I reading too much into this or am I totally beside myself about this for a reason?
May I add that I refer to her as my step daughter for clarity, but I consider her to be my daughter and always will.
My 4 year old, even though she has also suffered mental and physical abuse, has been left with her mother for further abuse due to the fact she's too young to stand up for herself so isn't considered as much at risk even though there is evidence to prove it is still ongoing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_war

The Vietnam War claimed more than just victims overseas - at home it claimed reforms aimed at lifting millions of people out of poverty.

Almost 3 million Americans served in Vietnam. Between 1965 and 1973 the United States spent $120 billion on the war. This resulted in a large federal budget deficit. The war demonstrated that no power, not even a superpower, has unlimited strength and resources. But perhaps most significantly, the Vietnam War illustrated that political will, as much as material might, is a decisive factor in the outcome of conflicts.

Aftermath for Vietnam people
More than one million Vietnam people became boat people, about one million was imprisoned in concentration camps, more than
100,000 killed.

Mr. McNamara’s studies in philosophy and especially morals and ethics allowed him to understand the principles of these ideas and rationalize them, perhaps even have regrets in terms of his failure to follow them within the institutional setting he served in. His desperate need to find favor in the eyes of his superiors led him to fulfill wishes and orders he did not agree with, yet he did not follow his conscience and quit. Had he done so, perhaps President Johnson would have quit earlier also. Since President Johnson did not run for re-election once McNamara was gone, perhaps this acted as an indicator that the whole mess could have been wrapped up much earlier without the tragedy of the outcome: 3.27 million Vietnamese dead, the equivalent representation of 27 million Americans in terms of population size comparison ratios at the time.

1. Had a conversation taken place, many lives (58,00 American/ 3.27 million Vietnamese) would have been saved from needlessly being wasted to support the Military Industrial Complex. (“Why We Fight”, 2005)

I live in a two home address. Our Landord lives in the front and we live in the back. There is one mailbox for both homes. We have a Lock/Key Mailbox where we get our Mail. There was an argument between us this morning because of hearsay from the neighbors. In The Afternoon when I go to retrieve our Mail, I discover the lock on the Mailbox has been changed and we no longer have access to our mail! Isn't this A Federal Crime? What can I do? They are not home at this time.

Texas has a no gambling law. Okay their prerogative. So how come they still allow Bingo and the State Lottery. These are considered as gambling activities in the UK.

Don't you think that this is hypocritical especially as the Catholics are so against gambling and yet enjoy a game of bingo?

My civil complaint was ordered to mediation,
we did not come to an agreement, but just
before the hearing was over,my attorney
informs me that he will not have the money
needed to depose the witnesses. He never
indicated that he was having financial issues,
as he had been describing to me how he
would litigate the case. However just before
the mediation he also backed out of suing
my Labor Union as he indicated he would.
We signed a contingency fee contract, and at
this point I feel he is compromising my case.
Should I report this to the Bar Association?

There have been nearly 4000 coalition deaths of USA troops.

Well over 26,000 USA troops have been wounded in action and disabled for the rest of their lives.

Nearly 700,000 innocent Iraq civilians have been killed, and countless are disabled for life without the medical attention they need.

We are nearing $450,000,000,000.00 of USA tax dollars spent on this "war".

Saddam Hussein was never a threat to the USA, and had nothing to do with the "attack" on September 11, 2001.

Osama Bin Laden is "not a priority" according to George W. Bush.

The isolated and extremely conspired events of September 11th is not an excuse to go to war with a random country.

So, since Iraq had no intention of going to war with USA, aren't we causing terror in the wrong country? And since we are causing unjust terror, what does that make the USA?

Why do you support that which you said was wrong with our government just because the person is of your party?

You really see nothing wrong with Cheney hiding documents?
OR
A CIA operative's identity being leaked for political reasons?
OR
Bush arranging the SPP which further leads to the advancement and implementation of the North American Union...without a National referendum to the people whether they want this union?
OR
Gonzales and his minions going to Ashcroft's sickbed in the hospital while he was suffering from Pancreatitis to approve the request for renewal of the questionably illegal wiretapping program?

That's just for starters!!!!

Why ...if this was a Democrat President and administration doing these things you'd be calling for impeachment and justice under the constitution as well!!!!!

Why are you supporting this?

Wrong is wrong!

And YES many Democrats are upset at Democrat government officials who do corrupt things and are glad they are held ....

Obama is complaining that "right wing" evangelists have hijacked their religion.

I guess he would be an expert on that subject. After all, his "former" religion, Islam, has been hijacked by extremists who blow up and kill innocent civilians and has the sympathy and support of most of its congregation in doing so.

His "current" religion, whatever that is, has been hijacked by black racists who have replaced God with Farrakhan, and replaced the word "amen" with "black power."

Shouldn't that be up to the owners? If you own a club, why should you be forced to make it non-smoking? If you don't like the smoke then just go somewhere else, it's not like there's a shortage of clubs around, no one's forcing you to go in. And as for the people who work there, didn't you realise you'd be working in a smoking environment when you took the job??

Smoking is what people do in a pub or club (as well as drinking of course), in fact I know people who don't smoke much unless they're out drinking. So if you know there's cigarette smoke and you're a non smoker, then why the hell would you want to work there?? And why is going to be a law for it?

If they want to make laws to protect people in their workplace, how about banning nuts in the workplace so that people with nut allergies can work in the KP Peanut factory.

I haven't paid much attention to politics in my life, but I want to get informed. My main interest right now is to learn about all the possible presidential candidates and where they stand on all the major issues. It would be so helpful if there was just one website that outlined this for me, and was geared for people who don't know a ton about politics but want to learn. Is there such a website, and if not, where should I start if I want to get more familiar with this subject?
