Texas has a no gambling law. Okay their prerogative. So how come they still allow Bingo and the State Lottery. These are considered as gambling activities in the UK.
Don't you think that this is hypocritical especially as the Catholics are so against gambling and yet enjoy a game of bingo?

i have lived in texas my entire life. they have certain avenues of gambling but not many.

bingo is a lot different than gambling. Organized bingo has a limited (and very small) pot , and the most you can lose or win is a few dollars. It's a fundraisor basically, and a place for people to have some fun.
Gambling is a place where you can lose your life savings, and there is no limit to how much you can lose. Those places even let you use a credit card for goodness sake !.
Not to mention, casinos are run by crooked, organized criminals, while Bingo halls are organized by volunteers, and little old ladies. Stop picking on Catholics and Christians and find something worthwhile to whine about.

Catholics are not against gambling. The clergy advises the laity to refrain from doing it in excess
It is not hypocritical. Different states have different laws. In West Virginia, you can bet on horses at race tracks and play slot machines in casinos. They also have lotteries. It is just a matter of what the government will allow.
