It is easy to get caught up in it around here. I blame the forum's lack of tolerance for debate.
But we do need to pull ourselves back and think. Stick to the basics of what we personally hold. Defend our own positions. Put forth our own policy ideas for criticism.
Frankly, there are too many people using this forum to advance their criticisms of the other side. Better to educate.

Thanks my Friend, outstanding question, i am also trying to bring peace, between all the parties, so they can do their debates or what ever in A very civilized fashion.
I just can't see so much talent go to waste, by getting angry at each other, and attack ideas or even people.
Another important issue is that our nations truly need to be united and together come up with the resolution to fix all broken and to rebuilt all demolished, cure all sick and plan for the future of our nation as well as planet earth.
Best Regards.

I beleive that a lot of the blame must go to followers of Right Wing Radio and Coulter, O'Reilly and Mike Savage types learned from their mouthpieces that the way to win an arguement is is to insult and vilify "liberals", lie and distort to the point the word "Liberal" to them is an insult, these attacks have been going on for 20 years and unfortunately many on the left have felt they need to respond in kind....we didn't start this...but personally yeah I have conserative friends and family who know how to have civilized discourse...but there are a lot of yahoos on yahoo,

you and your friends were face to face I'm sure and you know and respect each other or you wouldn't be friends. here on YA, we are all basically anonymous and therefore when frustrated or insulted by what someone says, we can lash out with mean and hurtful speech and not worry too much about it. it can't be controlled, but don't worry it's no big deal, it will help make you tough. easily hurt liberals still have blocking and reporting to fall back on.

I agree that it gets ridiculous. If you compare our political parties to those of other nations, we really don't even have extremists. Whether we elect a republican or a democrat, the country will not be changed in a really drastic way because of popular opinion. This isn't true in other countries. We are a lot more similar than we like to think.

True conservatives are cool. Neo-cons are the bottom feeders of society. Moderate liberals are cool. The Rosie O types compete with the neo-cons for food on the bottom.
Basically, moderates on both sides have a lot of good ideas to offer AND are willing to listen. Neo-cons and extreme leftists are destructive and will only lead to the destruction of mankind in one fashion of another.

You are right. There is way too much childishness and hatred spewing from both sides.
I myself a conservative with libertarian leanings, but I don't hate liberals. I think they are naive, misguided, and governed by their feelings rather than thinking through the issues, but I don't hate them for it.

Disturbing, isn't it? I blame Fox noise for making
name-calling & liberal bashing popular.
Human beings should, at least, pretend to have respect
for each other, but the clowns at Fox have made an
art form out of hate. I'll give them that.
