President Nixon was the last President to give the military a real pay raise, 100%. The Military works 24/7, has no over time and they have to work holidays. If you were to break their salary down to an hourly rate, they get paid peanuts. They lay down their lives to protect this country but we can't pay them a better salary.

Her typical speed on the motorway is 100 MPH. Yesterday she was late for picking up our son from school and achieved 110 MPH in a poxy Vauxhall Corsa. I said to her yesterday the only result at that speed is 'death' if you crash. Any advice from police officers welcome coz i am worried now.

These ppl tell us who the candiates are. This is exactly why they are scared to death of Ron Paul. I just think it's funny how liberals think she is the answer. She is pro-war and vacations with the Bush's. Think about it, perception is not reality.

obviously some of you are not old enough, but for those of you who are-
i really would like to know why.
maybe you like guns, but have been strapped for cash lately, maybe you hate guns, but have tons of money to buy one if you wanted to. maybe youve never touched a gun and dont know if its a good idea to pick one up or not.

i have many close friends who have told me that they would never purchase a gun, and they all have their own reasons, im just interested in what YOUR reason is for NOT owning a gun.

i dont live in a bad neighborhood by any means, if anything i live in a nice neighborhood, about 5 minutes from the beach. but i feel so much safer about having guns in my possession, just in case i need to protect myself, or my friends [roomates].
nowadays, i hear about people getting killed over a $200 television. i hate hearing that, its not fair.
please tell me how you feel about this,

Mine is that I don't feel the electoral college accurately represents the desires of the people. I live in North Carolina, which always goes republican, so since I'm not republican, my vote basically ends up not even counting, since all of the electoral college votes go to the majority candidate.

Just wondering what other people's reasons were for not voting.

I'm persian, i wanted to move to U.S, i'm 18,male. For last 2 years i just spent my whole time to know about U.S. and its Awesome people and its great History. I even have fight with jerk people who insulted American People. One day principal of my school fired me just because i did draw the Flag of the U.S and the Statue of liberty. By the way, i have got a big test i have to study for, the university entrance, students do their best and study hard for 2 years to go to university and pass the exam. So i have no choice. As iranians don't have US embassy in their Damned country i came to turkey for that, you know what happend? I didn't have money and allowance to stay longer, i came to US embassy, and they (american folks) didn't even let me in! They said you have to make an appointment. Are you Americans Always that friendly?? My employer, send me to overseas to work for long term in Visit Visa / Tourist Visa;
Initially they assure they will process employment visa, but they drag for months by the time the project get over.

I'm in situation that If I reject the assignment, sure they blame me that I'm not productive resource to company,
It's a Kind of In-Direct threat to my job. I'm sure if I raise this as issue, I will be fired for some other reason.

Does Singapore Law permit Employer to send their employee to work in other countries, without proper visa.

How does this favor to me? Any legal help/comments please?

Ever since the day he told me he was enlisting to the Marines, I have worn a shirt that says,"PROUD BROTHER OF A U.S. MARINE"
When he asked for Gatorade Powder and Energy bars in Boot Camp, I would save to buy him a case of each.
When he got a speeding ticket in California I was the first to pay it

When he was literally starving because he had no money, I would send him money i didn't have.When he came Home from Iraq I took him to the most expensive steakhouse in my town.When his car "blew up" and he came home for a visit, I took a 401(k) loan for $10,000. ( I am still paying for this out of weekly deductions) to buy a new car.
Through the past 3 years I mentioned, NEVER once have I recieved a Thank You from my brother.
Is that something they teach recuits in Boot Camp, "use everbody including your family to gain what you don't have"
Yet I still wear the "PROUD BROTHER OF U.S. MARINE" shirts.
P.S. I don't mean offend anyone I will always support what My HERO decided to do.

It seems that so many Republicans assume that a tax cut always leads to increased tax revenues, but doesn't the laffer curve, the very basis for this belief, show that tax cuts after a certain point will actually decrease tax revenues?

The best analogy I can think of is selling apples? If I sell them for 50 cents and sell 100 a day, then I am making $50. But if I lower my price to 40 cents, and this causes me to sell 150 apples, then I am now making $60, indeed an increase. But lets say I still call for a decrease in price to 30 cents, only now I only sell 160 apples. Now I am only making $48, and the drop has caused me to LOSE money. This is common in business and finding the price that generates the biggest revenues is key.

So why not focus on the best tax rate as oppose to always on just blanked tax cuts?
