As shocking or surprising as it may seem, the foreign spouse of a Sri Lankan does not seem to enjoy any marital rights in this country. The foreign man or woman who marries a Sri Lankan is on a very short leash and could, quite legitimately, be kicked out of the country [even after the first night] on the local spouse informing the Controller of Immigration & Emigration to cancel his or her wife’s or husband’s Spouse Residence Visa (SRV).

A person who has been arrested and is currently in custody has gone to court on 4 occasions. According to the court docket, a "jail arraignment" took place at the first court appearance. The person has not yet been asked to enter a plea or been told by the judge what charges are being filed against them. It has been 3 weeks.

Does this not violate constitutional rights in someway?

If it does not, does it violate the rule that a person must usually have an arraignment hearing within 72 hours from the time of arrest?

Would you agree with the statement above? I mean with the level of evil and sin in the USA is it not time for a Taliban type regime to put women in their place and to instruct men to live better lives?

India is a member of The Hague convention and Ministry of External Affairs can legalise a document using an apostille stamp. MoEA has attested my birth certificate, but did not put the apostille stamp. The reason they gave is they have stopped for some time and it will reopen maybe in 1.5 months. How and why do they stop? They are part of international treaty! All the development and bureaucracy is the same in India!

...inside waiting to do you harm. What does the law say about self defense in this situation?

1) First, if you got in the car and that person attacks you, to what extremes can one go to when defending oneself in their own car? Can you actually kill them...? Not necessarily with a concealed weapon that you have on your person.

2) Next, if you can harm/kill them in self defense, would it be legal to install, let's say, a device that dispenses a gas of some sort? or maybe like a stun gun device that electrocutes the hiding passenger?

I assume its obvious you can't have any chemical warfare types of gases. I ask cause in the commercial the lady ends up walking away from her car. What happens if that person in waiting jumps out and chases her around the desolate lot. Other than that lets hope the alert (built into the car alarm) remote has a great enough range.

If nothing bad happens in Iraq, no one dies or no bombs go off, the media still finds something negative to report? They will say things like "200,000 still without electricity in the Al Anbar province" or "20,000 still without a clean water source in Fallujah"

Now that is confidence . Too much I would say, so why do they say this. They get introduced as the your next future President of the United States before they are even voted in .
Gore was introduced this way, Kerry was, and I'm sure McCain and Obama will do the same. I wonder when this started . Don't they feel dumb afterwards ?

First of all, wow, what a f***ed up situation right now. Here is the news link for the Iraq suicide bombing and kidnep of three U.S. soldiers.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070514/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

According to the AP, at least 124 people killed in one day by the suicide bombing...

And the Al-Qaeda claims they kidnepped the three American soldiers... what will happen to them? Can you guess based on what has been happening in Iraq? Will they be executed? Tortured?

By the way, how long will the insurgency last? A year before, Condolizza Rice said the insurgency could last up to 10 years... this is the worst case senario. If this is true, then the U.S. would suffer high fever.

Do you really think the insurgency would last up to 10 years?

Also, the situation in Afganistan is actually getting worse. The Taliban fighters began using the tactics from Iraq, and Bin Laden is still far from being captured, and the guerrilla fighting does not seem to be over soon.
