Let's see, despite the nuclear bombs, Japan comes with the least.
Germany of course has been in the most battles of the three but theyre also not sporting the least population.
So that leaves Russia with the most deaths, Russia was attacked on several occasions and suffered deplorable losses in their cities despite driving back Germany especially in Stalingrad, and situations in the Red Army actually threw them BACK on the battlefield after attempts to retreat.

It's between Russia and China.
The figures for Russia may be slightly innacurate as the compiled data includes those mudered by the state.... whereas we know that under the Japanese around 20 million died in China.

The death toll of Russians was massive and by the end of hostilities was estimated to be 20,000,000 [twenty million].
I am not sure if the above figure includes the military dead as well.
Whatever the figure, it puts UK civilian death toll firmly in the shade. By 1945 a total of [approx] 400,000 British civilians had been killed, mostly as a result of German air raids.

Most people forget about China, which lost nearly as many people as Russia
China was under occupation by the brutal imperial empire of Japan and 20,000,000+ were killed by war, starvation, and massacres.
