for ships built up until 1945. Our naval heritage is ill represented, we have the (est yrs) USS Constitution (1797) the USS Olympia (1892) the USS Texas (1914) and a few dozen from WWII. so what ship do you think should have been saved from the breakers? can you think of 3 or four? no choices are wrong if legitimate navy ships that where scrapped not sunk in battle or lost a sea. my first choice is the ACR-3 USS Brooklyn (1896-1921) to me the most beautiful and yet powerful cruiser of the Spanish American war that was the flag ship and prime combatant at the Battle of Santiago Cuba 3 July 1898. USS Oregon is a close 2nd, she was a museum piece but later scrapped also. 3rd would be either the USS Hartford or Kersarge of civil war fame for WWII I think the USS Nevada and USS Lexington, sad they used the hero of Pearl harbor (made a dash up the channel), and the lady lex for a-bomb experiments.

Even if they're too old to fight on the front, they should be able to serve in other capacities. Or are they just armchair warriors that just give lip service, call liberal cowards while they send our kids to fight because they are the ones who are really afraid? To them I say: Put up or shut up!

Remember - in the Clinton WH only three people were authorized to talk policy with the department of justice so the impartiality of the DOJ could be maintained, but under Bush - it seems to have extended to everyone who was on staff - last count was over 125!

First, there are very few things which I can predict with utter certainty, but one of those items is that there will NEVER be the requisite number of state ratifications of an amendment to repeal the Second Amendment.

Second, remember that we're talking about confiscating firearms, not paper airplanes. I'm confident I'm not the only one who will NEVER give up my guns without a fight.

The Second Amendment is the one which guarantees the rest of the Constitution. Had the Chinese recognized something analogous to the Second Amendment, there never would have been a Tiananmen Square massacre.

Do the leaders in charge have any concept of the resistance to the US Occcupation in Iraq? Do they understand that most of the qulams that Middle Easterners have againt the US is the US support for brutal anti-democratic regimes (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel) and that the Apartied Wall in Palestine is what angers so many people.

This wall in Iraq is wantonly putting US troops at greater risk. The Iraqis know that which is why they don't even want it to protect themselves!

A bit of cultural competency would do the US leaders well if they want to continue their Imperialist mission in Iraq.

But, alas, like the Brits found out years ago, nothing but aimless bloodshed and loss of life will come out of Iraq.

They wore us out. Time to forget it and come home before the leaders go full on with escalation like in Vietnam.

The choice now is die for a lost cause or come back early and live a life. The so-called victory that Bush cites is not possible.

Rappers are story tellers. Some of the stories they tell are real and some are not. Movies do the same thing and sometimes foul language is necessary to get a point across in a movie. If you made a movie about racism, you expect for the n word and others words to be used. If you made a movie about drug dealers, you would use foul language to preserve the authencity of the picture. Why are rappers getting attacked for verbally telling stories?
I think censorship should lie more with the parents. Capitalism is well and alive. When the Dixie Chicks said they were dissapointed that George Bush was from Texas, a lot of people boycotted their music. What are your thoughts?
