I’m out of the service now but while I was there my company sustained 5 dead and 17 wounded. Some of my friends elected to stay in; however, and are now on their 4th deployment to Iraq. They are greatly stressed and many suffer from depression. Personally my son was born and learned to walk while I was away. I do not regret having served my country, but I do not agree with this war or with the commander in chief.

Multiple positions can lessen the effectiveness of a soldier. Thus, President Bush must not force soldiers for multiple tours of duty which could endanger their lives.

Stop whining. Troops in the Second World War didn't get redeployed back to CONUS til they became casualties. I've met vets from that timeframe who fought straight from 1941-45. Some actually fought earlier than that under the British or the Chinese. Many stayed on later than that as Occupation troops, who didn't get a choice whether to come back or not.

You knew full well when you signed that contract what you were getting into. It's not the wishes of any single President, it is what the military expects of you and what the American people ask of you. I've done multiple tours as well. If hundreds of thousands of others can do so without complaining, no good reason why you can't do the same.

In case you forgot, it's wartime. If your country needs you, your country needs you. Stop blaming the C-in-C.

My brother spent 4 tours ( 12 months each ) in Vietnam with the marines. I spent 2 ( 14 months each) with the Army Special Forces. I was wounded & my brother was wounded 4 times. We didnt have cell phones to call home each week. I had it pretty good because I was a gunner on a Chopper. I was back at TONSUNUTE AIR Base every night.i had hot meals every day. My brother was in the field A week at a time , living in the jungle & rice patties. This is not to say the troops today are not in a bad place but War is hard no matter where you are or what job you do. I have the greatest respect for our young men & women in uniform. They can not get enough praise for what they do. I wish during NAM we got only half that respect. Maybe I would not be so bitter. My dad ( he is 84) was drafted into the Army. on Sept 26 1942 & never came home until Nov 21 1946. He was a medic. He stayed in Europe with his unit after the war to return prisoners to their home countries. He & his sons proudly did their jobs with no complaints.

First, as a soldier it is your obligation to go and do whatever your told to do. Second, if soldiers did not want to go they would have not enlisted, there has not been a draft for over 30 years. Third, it is an all volunteer Army, quit complaining, if someone enlists, male/female they know what they are getting into and if they don't they should not enlist. I am here to tell you, as long as the war is going on and you enlist you WILL go to either Afghanistan or Iraq, there is no question about it period......l am glad your out, complain all you want, as your the kind of soldier, airman, marine, seaman that we do not want.

Because when you swear into the military, weather full time or National Guard, you sign for a specified time. You also swear to defend the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic for that term of duty. If you have time to serve multiple tours, your body belongs to them! That's still better than the dudes who signed for WWII, who signed for the duration, not knowing the war would last four friging years!!!!!!!!!

In other Wars, soldiers were expected to serve the duration
of the War, so what President Bush expects is not too much.

i theory they cut back and ran in the previous. what number circumstances have you ever seen them on the White domicile. feels like they have dissed daddy. If the draft replaced into reinstated day after today, Bush can make positive his young ones would not bypass to Iraq. Daddy can make positive they remained stateside. He'd possibly employ them to a position contained in the finance branch.

If you take the coin off a guy like that what do you expect? Wait till they get some women hostages that'll bring out the white flags while we find some other oil field to pick on.

It is often those who are inexperienced demand the most out of those who are experienced.

George served in the national guard. He never really went to combat, never took his job seriously and does not understand the basics of leading soldiers or an army.
