Do the leaders in charge have any concept of the resistance to the US Occcupation in Iraq? Do they understand that most of the qulams that Middle Easterners have againt the US is the US support for brutal anti-democratic regimes (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel) and that the Apartied Wall in Palestine is what angers so many people.

This wall in Iraq is wantonly putting US troops at greater risk. The Iraqis know that which is why they don't even want it to protect themselves!

A bit of cultural competency would do the US leaders well if they want to continue their Imperialist mission in Iraq.

But, alas, like the Brits found out years ago, nothing but aimless bloodshed and loss of life will come out of Iraq.

They wore us out. Time to forget it and come home before the leaders go full on with escalation like in Vietnam.

The choice now is die for a lost cause or come back early and live a life. The so-called victory that Bush cites is not possible.

Walls are not effective in fighting a war. Acceptance of the American presence will incite more Iraqis to fight them because they do not agree with the government that they established as it is against their religion.

It would seem that the wall in Israel worked. A number of would be murderers were apprehended, others were discouraged and the death toll was significantly reduced, while the Palestinians who are willing and eager to work and live with the Israelis were able to live without fear while doing so. Possibly this might work in Iraq as well.

Walls are, you know, a very traditional way to keep out the barbarians. Ask the Romans.

Have you ever been to Israel? There are many Muslims living and working side by side with Jews, and some are also members of the Knesset. More have admitted they would like to participate in Israel's democratic society but are afraid of reprisals from the terrorists of Hamas.

Frankly, your declaration that the average Palestinian, Irani or Iraqi hates the United States for supporting "brutal antidemocratic regimes" is so much bovine excrement. The average Arab hates the Americans and Jews because he is told to by his brutal antidemocratic leaders.

As for what will win in Iraq, probably nothing. This, of course, means we should all surrender just like Great Britain did after Dunkirk, right? We will all die eventually, so there will be no victors. How we live is all that remains.
