The local Newport Beach ordinance prohibits these kinds of noises only before 7 on weekdays, but since I like to sleep late, is there any way I can sue my neighbor for disturbing my sleep? Like this being detrimental to my health perhaps?

I know what freedom of speech is, but it's appalling how many people think freedom of speech means freedom from social consequences. So here are the questions. I know some idiot with his 12th grade education is going to say something ridiculously racist (because the racists seem to live on here as the one glimmer of hope in their pathetic lives). All others, please answer openly and honestly. And hopefully we can respect each other's answers.

What do you think freedom of speech is?

What kind of world do you think this be if there were no consequences for anything people say?

Why do you think freedom of speech is so widely misinterpreted (usually by the people who make racist comments, or people supporting people making racists comments)?

Do you think that it is any way fathomable that if Japan had not bombed Pearl Harbor, the U.S would have been too late in entering the war, which would lead to Germany's takeover of the entire eastern hemisphere and eventually global domination?

Just a thought?

My husband makes about $2,000,000 a year, and while we have enjoyed a large break in taxes, I am very disappointed that our refund next year will likely not increase because of the Democrats entrusting the government with taxpayers money and wasting it on welfare programs.

Democrats who want to engage in class warfare need not answer this question.

With the bulk of forces in IRAQ, and this new 15month deployment strategy, where each unit will stay at home for at least a year, isnt it so convenient that this military plan seems to be just enough to last until bush's term ends?

Because theres no way that we have the bulk of our force deployed, and now extended, and the bulk of forces will need at least a year -- whichmeans we will have a small group of newly deployed soldiers there to enforce while the bulk of our soldiers come home to rest.

Thats perfectly timed when Bush's term is up -- do the math.

So basically this president has manipulated a plan that carries forth until his term ends, and he really does pass on a troubled plan to the next president.

So much for Bush carrying about the american people.
What a president this guy is huh?

Follow the money--and the reasoning for anything the President proposes becomes perfectly clear. Apparently bankrupting an S&L is the necessary qualification to receive a multi-million dollar no-bid contract--being the President's brother Neil helps a little too!!

Of course he wants Congress to renew his No Child Left Behind legislation--Why would he want his brother to be unemployed again? Nevermind the program is nothing but an absolute failure. It's a perfectly legal racket to feed the Bushie Businesses who are profiting from it's inception.

My brother was employeed with a bank over a yr ago. They FBI came to his home in another county to question him pertaining to entering the building of work after hrs. He stated he did often as did other employees after hours to work. They asked if he entered other rooms he stated yes at times to leave work or notes on desktops. They showed him a pic of him entering the building with a hood on his head he stated it was raining. They asked if he entered a storage room. He said, what are you getting at here? Am I charged with a crime? They stated not yet. He said, no more questions, I want a lawyer. They said, have your lawyer contact us.
This questioning happened a month ago. He hadn't heard anything until 2 days ago his ex wife said the FBI came to her asking if she was aware of items stolen from the bank by her ex? She stated no.
Wouldn't the FBI, if they had enough evidence already come to get him or charge him. He thought it was dropped but now he is scared.

We are in Iraq, protecting the people, and trying to get a new government up and running. So that groups like the Taliban can't take over and put them back at square one. Too many Americans are complaining and saying that we need to pull out. Where does that leave the people? If you want us out of there, what is the solution to the problem?

From the events I've witnessed unfolding since 9/11, it seems thar George W. and the neo-cons have fallen for the bait Osama layed out for them.

George W., Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, etc., all eagerly jumped into Osama's script.

Why did they choose to do the very things that Osama was telling the Arab world that we would do?

I see a succession of errors that the U.S. has made under George W. that has only served to infuse Osama with a level of credibility he never would have reached otherwise.

It's almost as if the principals in our government picked up copies of Osama's script and obediently began reciting the lines from its pages and doing the deeds it was written down in the script for them to do.

It is so frustratinng for me to witness this process unfold and to see our credibility in the world dissipate almost overnight.

After the events of 9/11, I've never seen such a motherlode of political capital squandered in such a short period of time.

Why?!!!

My biggest peave is a president serving America whos truly caring for the people, will stand an face the questions that come his way, instead of running away from questions.

Thats where you know just what this president is all about.
He wont allow questions.
He answered only 2- 2 days ago.

And mostly always gives speeches but wont allow for follow up questions.

It proves he doesnt feel he should be accountable, or the american people dont deserve to be apprised and comforted by their commander

Except for the little (R) and (D) behind their names, they might as well all be the same candidate! None of these guys are going to put an end to all these wars in the middle east. They are all in the pockets of AIPAC.

What about the candidates that are actually about some real issues, the issues for regular Americans, and are not just going to pick up where Bush leaves off?
