I'm getting commissioned as a 2nd Lieutanent in the Army. I would like to have my grandfather administer the oath but I don't know if he is authorized to do it. He was a naval officer but only for 4 years. He did not retire after 20 years, instead he just fufilled his obligation and was honorably discharged. Is there any way he can administer the oath even though he was only an officer for 4 years? Thanks.

Even if everyone did reduce their "carbon footprint", wouldn't that be offset by a growing world population? Shouldn't we also be looking at what a "sustainable" population is for this planet?

A republic is the highest form of government devised by man, but it also requires the greatest amount of human care and maintenance. If neglected, it can deteriorate into a variety of lesser forms, including a democracy (a government conducted by popular feeling); anarchy (a system in which each person determines his own rules and standards); oligarchy (a government run by a small council or a group of elite individuals): or dictatorship (a government run by a single individual). As John Adams explained:
[D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy; such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit, and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable [abominable] cruelty of one or a very few.20

In my last letter, I told your something about the division of labour. Right at the beginning, when men used to live by hunting only, there was very little division of work. Everybody hunted and they could, with difficulty, get enough to eat. The division of work or labour must have begun between men and women – the men hunting and the women staying at home and looking after the children and domestic animals. WHO WROTE THIS LETTER?

How else can you explain his subsequent theft of documents from the National Archives. I think it tragic that Bill Clinton was apparently betrayed by one of his most trusted staffers!

Many liberal people label conservatives as uneducated and/or ignorant. They always reference the fact that people are more civilized nowadays and therefore should change their views on certain issues most notably, social issues.

I love history. The great thing about history is that there is always going to be more to learn. I am constantly educating myself about it. Through my study of history I find that a liberal mentality has more often than not preceded disaster.

WWII: Appeasement - we allowed Hitler to take the Sudetenland because we didn't want to cause problems. In retrospect this is what would be considered a bad move.

WWII: Isolationism - We thought that Hitler was not our problem. Again, bad move.

I should go on, but I am running out of space. I know that some of you will say Vietnam was a conservative war, but remember, JFK started it all.

If history shows us that liberalism is often the bad move, aren't liberals the ones who need a better education?

"Occupied Territories" my posterior! That area is properly called Judea and Samaria and should NEVER have been returned to Muslim filth.

The "hijackers" were taking flight lessons and preparing for their attacks some 22 months prior to 9/11. How was Bush able to keep the plan and their activities from Sandy Berger, Richard Clarke and the terrorism watchdogs of the Clinton Administration?

George W. Bush was confirmed AWOL from the air national guard from the year 1972-1973.

If he cares so much about the USA and protecting it.. why was he AWOL for duty?

Proof postive and confirmed by military documents scanned below at that link

I go to the airshow at Oshkosh every summer and see quite a few of the old aircraft still flying in private and corporate hands. If money was not the object – which one would you want and why? I think one of the ME262’s that were just built or possibly the P-38 or FW 190.
