an aggressor enemy in wartime? Who owns Alsace-Lorraine these days? How about the Sudetenland? Gdansk?
"Occupied Territories" my posterior! That area is properly called Judea and Samaria and should NEVER have been returned to Muslim filth.

To those who take exception to my allusion to Muslim filth: When was the last time you read about a Presbyterian flying planes into buildings? How many Hindus hijack cruise ships and push elderly wheelchair-bound people overboard? Are there a lot of Buddhists putting people on trial for their lives for the "crime" of conversion to a different religion? Are Jews promised 72 virgins for killing non-Jews? Is a fundamental cornerstone of Confucianism that all must be either Confucians or be killed?

zh: You really might want to read some history. The only war Israel has ever fought which can be debated as to who started it was the 1967 war. Israel was invaded by the armies of 5 Arab nations in 1948. The Egyptians sent fedeyeen to terrorize Israel prior to the 1956 war. The 1973 war began with a surprise joint attack by Egypt and Syria on Yom Kippur.

Robert: The Soviets never maintained that they owned eastern Europe. They installed puppet régimes, but Bulgaria was still Bulgaria, for example.
I would dearly LOVE to talk Canadian politics and history with you. There was just an election last month in Québec in which the Parti Québécois (the party which wants independence for Québec) was soundly defeated. There is little taste for sovereignty. Two referenda have already been defeated, and if the PQ is ever in government again, it will be made three.
