Maj. Gen. Stanley McChrystal sent the memo after hearing the president might mention Tillman in a speech, "which might cause public embarrassment if the circumstances of Cpl. Tillman's death become public."
Noting a Pentagon e-mail from April 28 about White House speech writer John Currin seeking information about Tillman for the president's speech at the White House Correspondents' Dinner a few days later, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., suggested that it was more than just a coincidence that when "the president spoke at the Correspondents' Dinner, he was careful in his wording.

"[Bush] praised Pat Tillman's courage but carefully avoided describing how he was killed," said Cummings. "It seems possible that the P4 memo was a direct response to the White House's inquiry. And if that is true, it means that the White House knew the true facts about Cpl. Tillman's death before the memorial service and weeks before the Tillman family was told

I got a ticket from a police officer last night because he said I came dangerously close to hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk. However, I didn't see the pedestrian because it was dark outside, and while they could definitely see my Hummer H2, I couldn't see him. Also there are a lot of crosswalks out there, so how do I always know when there's a pedestrian in one? So why wasn't the pedestrian yielding for me? It should also be their fault for not driving.

Also, does anyone know any legal recourse for this ticket, and can I sue the parents of the person I almost hit (I got the person's information, but I don't know if I can sue them because they are only 14, it is the parents, right?)

There has not been a major terrorist attack against Americans in over five and a half years.

Surely our enemies would not have wanted it that way.

Has George W. Bush done a good job in preventing terrorist attacks against the USA?

Why are we in this mess?

How did we end up with this crowd in Washington? Well, we voted for them—or at least some of us did. But I'll tell you what we didn't do. We didn't agree to suspend the Constitution. We didn't agree to stop asking questions or demanding answers.

Some of us are sick and tired of people who call free speech treason. Where I come from that's a dictatorship, not a democracy.

And don't tell me it's all the fault of right-wing Republicans or liberal Democrats. That's an intellectually lazy argument, and it's part of the reason we're in this stew. We're not just a nation of factions. We're a people. We share common principles and ideals. And we rise and fall together.

Where are the voices of leaders who can inspire us to action and make us stand taller? What happened to the strong and resolute party of Lincoln? What happened to the courageous, populist party of FDR and Truman?

Jessica Lynch earlier gave testimony into how the Pentagon spread false stories about him in Afghanistan and her in Iraq.

What group would you say was most likely to face lengthy prison (or even legal execution) when he was totally innocent (that is, he hadn't done anything to hurt anyone at all)?
The two groups are:
(1) White men from 1960 to present date, who were done wrong because of false witness by ex-wives...or children who had been coached to lie in court?
(2) Black men in the Old South falsely accused of sexual crimes (or other crimes) in the years 1959 and earlier?
