The September 25, 2005 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper reported that Tillman held views which were critical of the Iraq war and did not support President Bush's re-election. According to Tillman's mother, a friend of Tillman had arranged a meeting with Noam Chomsky, to take place after his return from Afghanistan. Chomsky confirmed this [14]. The article also reported that Tillman urged a soldier in his platoon to vote for John Kerry in the 2004 U.S. Presidential election. [15]

pusherhombre - did you not read the articles and his wikipedia page. He was for the war on terror not the war in Iraq.

To the Republicans, Pat is dead and could not be bothered with him.
Just as long as a fellow Republican is in the White House, they cannot be bothered that a patriot really supported Kerry.
pusherhombre is greatly mistaken.
Pat died only 6 mths before the US election in November. Campaigning was already under way by April.

Yes, Pat Tillman was against the Iraq war, and, in a large part because of that, he supported Kerry over Bush. The thought the Iraq war made no sense, and detracted from the real war on terror, which was Afghanistan. He was, we all know, right about that. The other members of his company were aware of this and reported it later.
Why do you think they destroyed all his personal effects after he was killed? It would be hard to exploit his corpse if his true feelings came out.

You have your facts wrong. His brother is against the war and supported John Kerry.
Pat died in April 2004 long before the November elections. He joined the Army and became a Ranger because he loved his country and was all for the War on Terror. His training as a Ranger would have precluded him from following politics closely.
Please stop disrespecting Pat Tillman. He is an American Hero and John Kerry is not.

If he was against the war, he should have followed his instincts and stayed out of it, he would still be here. If he supported John Kerry, I say good for him, all these people who think John Kerry is an idiot are just showing the follow the lies mentality that are laid out like bread crumbs on a path, that leads to the person who is famous for destroying truth and making lies believable, Bush and Company. So, when you say you didn't and still wouldn't have supported Kerry, (in light of what this president has done to us and our Country), what your really saying is that the current administration is a better choice and you would rather be where we are today, than put your faith in Kerry? Are you serious? I would have voted for a chimpanzee over what we have for a president now. Republicans have no common sense and as you can see from one comment, they would even curse a man who gave his life for his country, even if it was taken by friendly fire. This is why we should ignore and treat them as if they don't exist, they don't deserve even my comments.

ok, the situation with Pat Tillman is shameful.
His loss is tragic as are all the other losses.
This is what should be seen here.
Pat died in friendly fire, it is tragic but it happens in war all the time.
The shameful part is that the US government seen his death as a political opportunity.
At that time they needed some 'hero' news to support Bush's personal war. They needed a 'famous' hero, so they got the report and desided to change it and make it more heroic. (By the way, anyone who dies in honorable combat no matter the particulars are heroic)
So...it is another example from washington DC that shows the value of human life to our ruler. Zero..unless it can be used to raise opinion polls.
Sad, yes
If I were from his family, I would publicly tell the president, you don't need to make up some story, he is still a hero to us.

If Pat Tillman was against the war, why did he quit a successful NFL career and enlist in the military? As for John Kerry, why would Tillman support a person who testified under oath in a senate hearing that the men he served with were rapists and baby killers. In a interview on Meet The Press Kerry admitted to committing the very same war crimes he testified to in his senate testimony. A patriot like Tillman would never support John Kerry.

No hatred for Liberals. It's a free country (unless Hillary get's in), but I do feel pity for you and will continue to counter your nonsensical, purely emotional conclusions with reason and logic.
As for Pat Tillman, all I know about him is he left a $3 million dollar a year career to serve in the military. He was a hell of an American with more courage and sense of honor than most anybody I could imagine. His political ideas, whatever they were, have no bearing on his character or my respect for the man.

Most republicans would be democrats if they knew the truth of what is really going on. The media has hidden the truth from much of the American people. We rank around 53 place in the world's nations for free press. Why aren't we number one? Because the government punishes publications and businesses that aren't cheer leaders for the administration's policies.

You have to fix the question. He WASN'T against the war in Afghanistan because we were told bin Laden and Al-Queda were the ones responsible for 9/11. That is why he enlisted.
Tillman was AGAINST the war in Iraq. I do not know if he supported Kerry.
