From what I've seen on the news, they seem to support the right of our troops to die.
I say that support for our troops means bringing them home alive and protesting anything that interferes with that...like a three month extension on their tour of duty.

Okay so you support the troops but not the defense contractors. Understandble. You've been told to hate big, profitable businesses all your life and defense contractors are HUGE and appear to make money off of people dying. So let's stop giving money to the defense contractors right now and find better things to do with it.

Wait. Where does our military get all of its equipment? oh no, they get it from defense contractors. Well we support the troops so we don't want to send them into battle without any weapons or ammo or technology. So we don't really have a choice but to keep buying this stuff, do we? But wait! there's good news! Only a fraction of the money we give these companies is actually spent on buying equipment! Most of it actually goes to something called R&D, which is developing NEW weapons and technology. So we just stick with the gear we have and don't pay them to develop any new weapons, because weapons are bad and the ones we have now are the best in the world anyway. Awesome.

Wait. So we're not developing new weapons anymore? We may be on top now but what about in ten years? What if we had decided not to develop new weapons after world war II? We probably would have lost the cold war, wouldn't we? Weapons are bad but loosing the cold war would have been worse. So if we want to remain a superpower or even an independent country, we should probably just suck it up and maintain a weapons industry to keep up with other countries.

Also, the funny thing about the defense industry is that they can basically only hire US citizens because of the nature of the work. Also, they hire a lot of educated people like engineers and scientists. If we try to get rid of them then we will be eliminating lots of well-paying American jobs and giving American students even less of a reason to go into math and science fields.

It's convenient to hate these big companies because it sometimes makes us feel good, but unfortunately we live in the real world and not the little idealistic world inside our heads.

the military needs the defense contractors. They don't have the time to do non military jobs that need to be done to keep the troops on the move. It has been that Way for a long time. even in peace time the military depends on defense contractors. It is easy to pick on the contractors but with out them the military would come to a screeching Holt.

Maybe you should wake up and ask Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein of California about the Companies she and Her Husband Own, and how much MONEY they made selling to the Military! Funny, it was in the San Francisco Paper, but the Liberal Media apparently felt that Because she is a Liberal Democrat, that they should not expose her to the same treatment shown to the Republicans!

That's not just it. I'm a Republican, and so is my family. We support the troops, and when we support the troops, we mean the soldiers. I hate politics, but I just had to say this: we do think of the soldiers, themselves. I'm not sure about the big guys in office, but not everyone is obsessed with money.

Ya - it truly is humorous to work out all those "help our troops" issues on the back of peoples' vehicles - yet our troops have been denied weapons and armor and pass away and rotation - and whilst they get abode they're denied medical help and so one etc. individuals are many times finished idiots - they simply desire to look like they help troops - particularly they don't care. The conflict would not touch them - they simply desire their tax rebate verify.

Does that mean because of profits that our troops should have to only use sticks and stones? then no one would profit? that don't sound like a smart idea, or does it to liberals?

I miss your point. I mean, your posts make it clear you hate President Bush. Your posts make it clear you hate those who support the United States efforts in Iraq (the war).

Why should we have anything but contempt for what you say? You've chosen sides in WW III.

So have we.
