Is there any legal issues with using sound bites from shows, speeches, ect in a video I am doing?

Would I need to get permission or a release form from each person if I use a sound bite with their voice?

Yes, you would. If you don't they can sue you.

Is a very gray area, but exceptions are recording your own bytes by people who are in the public eye and/or currently in the news or newsworthy and presenting the finished product as a news story or documentary.
