You may not get POINTS on your record, but the TICKET will appear. The court doesn't decide what happens to your insurance rates, that's up the to insurance company. If it is the only ticket in the last 3 to 5 years, most companies won't raise your rates.

It all depends on the insurance company your with. It may go up a little if the insurance company finds out. With my insurance company it does the more citiations the higher it goes. And if it does goes up quit a bit ask your agent to check to see if there is another company that will give you a better quote. I did this and saved $500.00 a year.
